A vibration went through her hand which snapped her out of her thoughts.

It was Ray.

"Hey, you called?"

"I called five times."

"Sorry.. I was busy. I work, you know?"

"As what?"

"Maybe if you came to me you would know."

"Why can't you just come to me?"

Ray was astonished. No one ever suggested that. Everyone was always scared.

"Is that an invitation?"

"If you know where the address is, you could come kidnap me in my sleep, but why shouldn't I be awake while I get kidnapped by a hot guy?"

"...a hot guy?"

There was a long pause.

"I- I'll call you back later."

Ray felt as flustered as ever. She just straight up called him hot.

"No, I don't deserve any compliments." Ray hit himself. "They're all liars. She was lying. She was lying. She was lying." Ray kept hitting himself.
