Warning: this chapter contains extreme sadness.

At the age of four, Luna Dru-Zod has seen more death and heart break than most Adults on Krypton. She, like the rest of her family thought it was something that they could get use to.

But standing there next to her mother's lifeless body she knew she was wrong. She knew she would never hear her kind words, hear her voice, hear the way she laughed how mirrored Luna's own perfectly. She knew that should never see the same emerald green eyes unless she looked into her own.

But what hurt most of all,

She knew she'd never see her father smile or laugh, or do any of things that made "the great" Dru Zod so complex.

She could feel his pain, see his very soul begin to break. It hurt her so much, she couldn't stop the tears from falling. She felt their guilt. But she couldn't focus on anything but her father's pain, and the storm of his emotions.

Again more silent tears, something else no child on Krypton should be mastering. But it was another thing that marked her as a Zod.

And with her so called gift of empathy, death and heart break were so much harder to handle. Would her father even consider it a gift now?

More tears.

Everyone in Kandor knew about Luna's strange ability. Adults that whispered about it were now looking at her with pity. Other children that bullied her were now silent. Even Kara Zor-El the girl that assumed more things about her than she could count was sad for her.

Then there were people that knew the truth and cared about her. Jor-El and Lara were trying to be strong knowing she would look to them for the hope and strength, her father couldn't provide. But she could feel their pain too, them empathy they felt for him.

Finally, her tears were no longer silent. Luna let out the smallest whimper, but just enough for her grandmother to hear. She looked down at Luna, her eyes softened, then right there with the entire city
watching Lyta Zod knelt down to her
And wrapped her in a tight hug, as the little girl finally allowed herself to break down and sob.
