"Maria!!" My sister, Aurora jumped on me once she saw me get out of the car. I stumbled back but managed to regain my posture and gave her a hug. Soon, my sister and parents joined in.

"Honey, we missed you so much." My mom said, extending her arms even farther.

We retreated from the hug and my parents started asking me about school. I was so exhausted that I could barely handle the questions. Thankfully, my sister noticed how tired I looked and told my parents to lay back off me and decided it was best for me to go rest.

I woke up with bright lights coming down on my eyes. I groaned and looked at my phone to check what time it was. It was 12:30 p.m. I must've been tired after all because I slept most of the day already. I jumped up and went to the bathroom to get ready. Once I was done, I went downstairs to see what everyone was up to.

I found my mom and sister in the kitchen. My sister was on her phone and my mom was reading a few letters from the mailbox. "Good morning Guys!" I said making them both look up startled by my excitement.

"You slept for more than 11 hours." My sister told the obvious. I rolled my eyes and went to grab cereal. Every time I came from the plane I always slept in for hours.

"I was thinking we go out for the day and show me all the cool places around here?" I asked my sister, looking directly at her. It's been a while I came home and my sister had better hangouts then I used to have with my friends

"What? Really? That would be nice!" She sounded happy and was already up. Her face turned downwards and I looked at her with worry while my mom scoffed and rolled her eyes with a small smirk on her face. I was about to ask what was wrong when she abruptly shouted it. "Ugh, but my phones at 30%!"

I rolled my eyes. Now I know what my mother was dealing with. My mom must've seen my facial expression cause she laughed too. "She does this every time and wonders why I end up leaving her at home when I tell her we're going out." My mother stated, looking at the retreating steps of my sister.

I laughed but couldn't stop myself from finding it cute. I went back to my cereal and adding some milk. "What time are you going to work?" I asked.

"I don't know, probably around 9. Your father had an early appointment but he told me to let you know that you could use his credit card if you were up to going out." She told me. She was sipping on some coffee while she looked at me closely.

I nodded at her. I had been working in New York at a convenience store and they paid me well enough but I decided to take my dad's card just in case I needed a few extra cash for my sister.

I was munching on some cereal when I got a call from Cassandra. "Hello?" I asked, my mouth still full of the cereal.

"How could you not tell me you left already?" Cassandra's voice was stern and it reminded me of my mother after I told her I skipped school once. She was my best friend but we went to different schools in New York. She grew up in Florida too but she didn't visit this year because she and her mom don't get along as much. She also had to stay to study for a test.

"If you'd answer your calls in a while maybe you would've known." I retorted.

"Are you giving me attitude? Cause if you are I'll come right where you are and slap you a sense or two." I laughed. All jokes aside, she returned to the normal preppy self she was. "Want to go out when you return?" she questioned. She sounded bored and exhausted.

I told her another time and that we could meet to go sooner next week. My sister finally came downstairs just as I finished. We both left in my other car that apparently was used. I looked towards my sister giving her a narrow look.

"Mom and Dad said I could use it on certain occasions." She answered meekly. I decided to let it slide.

After 9 hours being out with my sister and taking a few selfies with her here and there we were finally coming back home. It was late when we returned but I and my sister were still laughing about us dropping ice cream on top of a building and it landing on someone. We were still able to run and I'm sure the person we hit couldn't see us since the sun was already setting.

We barged in the house but made a complete halt when we saw my parents sitting on the couch and noticed two other male bodies on the opposite side. They turned around when they heard our laugh dial down.
