The air was filled with screams of agony as the night sky was lit up with bright crimson flames. The wind carried the heavy scent of smoke and burning flesh. People called out for loved ones, as they watched the Kou Imperial Palace burn down to the ground. Royal guards fought against the puppets that crawled out of the burning ruins. Small golden butterflies flew up into the sky out of the flames, all most completely obscuring the night sky, visible to all that watched the tragedy unfold.
In the distance, a small boy with blue hair clung to his older sister. Tears streamed down his face as his home was destroyed in front of him. A woman with ebony black, who almost looked like a carbon copy of the older sister, looked at the siblings in disgust. Jerking back when the blue haired boy, her son, tried to get anywhere near her.
A woman with pink hair held four children, with hair colors varying from pink to crimson red and even a purplish-red, close to her as all five of them cried for the loss of both family and friend. The boy with crimson hair seemed detached while his three siblings and mother of sorts huddled around him in despair.
Time moved forward, night turned into day, and day into night. The palace was eventually repaired again, but this time there was no phantom maid to help them. There was no older sister that took care of Kouha and his mother. No one to keep watch of Kougyoku and Hakuei. No one to keep Kouen and Koumei company. Though the royal children found a mother in Kouha's mother, they could never replace the spot of the older sister, that Kitty had filled. They could never replace the happiness that their visitors from Nazarik had once brought with them, but now that main generals were gone it wasn't the same. The Kou Imperial Palace was just an empty shell of what it used to be.
When the time for a funeral for the casualties came the princess Jasmine, now Queen of Nazarik, appeared. There was no fan fair or envoy of mighty dragons, she just appeared with what seemed to be two blond young children. One wore a white vest with a blue long sleeved undershirt, a white mini-skirt, white thigh high socks, brown knee high boots, a small green hooded cape, in her white gloved hands she held a wooden staff while the other child wore a white vest over a red long sleeved shirt, white pants, brown dress shoes and brown glows. Both of the children had different colored eyes, one eye was blue while the other one was green. The three guests stayed for the funeral and then vanished when the funeral ended.
Nazarik began to crumble as the entire Kingdom mourned for the death of some of their best protectors. The Queen started to become more closed off in the castle, opting to work instead of mourning the deaths of her family members. Time went on and the Kingdom stopped its mourning and started to build it's self up again. The alliance between the Kou Empire and Nazarik had remained even though it had become a bit stained after the incident. Kouen had been made the new holder of the alliance instead of the new Emperor, and their alliance had only become stronger. More frequent visits to each others country's and better trade. But nothing could have prepared them for the war that would soon threaten to destroy everything that they were trying to protect.
