"Uh, huh. Okay, could you tell me where she is? They won't know."

"Sorry, kiddo. No can do. I kinda like my job," She sympathizes. "All I can say is beware of the Gifted."

Cadence sighs, "Thanks anyway, miss. I'll hopefully find her. Somewhere."

This girl just disappeared, leaving her phone. But what was that warning? Cadence thinks, her mind filled with worries.

In Serenia Heights - K's house - Sixteen hours earlier

"Where is that boy?" His mother groans.

"He better not be getting in trouble again."

"Leave him alone, Leona. He's a teenager, let him have his fun," His father responds, shaking his head.

"I would leave him alone, Atticus. If only our son would stop sneaking out in the dead of night doing who knows what."

"It's not his fault," He argues, defending his son. "Ever since that happened, he's been out of it."

"I know it's been hard for a few months, but our son doing the things he does isn't right."

"Try calling him," K's father suggests. "It's getting late."

Leona dials her son's number, only to hear a dial tone. She tries again, looking at her husband with worry. She was surprised to hear the same ringing in another room upstairs.

Looking at her husband, she heads upstairs to where the ringing is located. She beckons her husband to follow her. They both head over to the room, only to see nothing touched.

"There's nothing here, Honey," Atticus remarked. "You said you heard ringing in here. Maybe you should call again."

Leona did exactly as her husband suggested. As she dialed the number, the ringing echoed in the room. Atticus looks around as he starts walking closer to the bed.

His wife follows and listens quietly. She lifts the covers and quietly gasps as she sees her son's phone, sitting there.

"His phone is usually on him if he's out. If it's here and he's not home, where could he be?" Atticus questions his wife, worry appearing on his face. "Should we call the police?"

"Not yet," She responds. "I'm sure he'll show up. Maybe he went out for a walk or something. We can check the rest of the house to see if he's hiding somewhere."

"Yeah, honey. He went for a walk. Only a walk," He reassured, trying to believe it himself. "Give it a couple of hours."

Hours have passed and both of K's parents are shocked that he still has yet to come home. They checked the entire house. No one was there but them. They still see his phone sitting on his bed, untouched. They never heard the door open or footsteps come in. Never heard him pull into the driveway or yell that he was home.

"I think it's time to call the police," His mother quietly muttered. His father just nods, not bothering to respond. He leaves while she calls, quickly going into the garage.

Leona dials the police and sadly waits for the operator to pick up.

"911. What's your emergency?" The operator's voice rings into her ears, muffled ever-so-slightly.

"I'd like to report a missing person," His mother whimpers, trying not to cry. Her husband whispers in her ear that his car was in the garage, along with his motorcycle. She whimpers from the news once more.

"Okay, well, how long have they been missing?" The lady on the phone asks her first question.

"I-I don't know. Usually, he comes home around this time but he hasn't shown up. His phone and car were left here."
