The four walk out of the door and see a group of students heading towards the elevators. N looks over to her company and nods her head towards the group ahead of them. Her company nods, knowing they might know the way towards the cafeteria.
They follow the group in front of them, heading towards the elevators behind them. The group laughs at something, causing N and C to roll their eyes. K smirks, amused at the girls' annoyance. T rolls his eyes, seeing K's amusement.
Hopping into the elevator with the other group, N looks at C with an annoyed expression. The four say nothing to the other group, only glancing at them every other moment.
The elevator finally dings, signaling it arrived on the second floor. K walks through the elevator door, looking back to face the other three. N soon follows but stops immediately at the size of the actual cafeteria. She thought it would be in a small room. The whole floor is an entire food court, with different restaurants, and seating areas.
T walks ahead and sits down in an empty table. They follow him, sitting down. K sits next to him, while N and C sit across from the boys. A couple of people notice the four and stare at them, noticing that they're new. Unfamiliar with the students of Delphine Academy.
While sitting and waiting for the lines to go down, the four notice that the students around are whispering among themselves.
"Who are they?" One girl whispers to her friend next to her.
"Where'd they come from?" Another girl whispers on the opposite side of the cafeteria.
"What are their abilities?" A boy asks his friend, leaning against the seat, "I'm curious about the girls, aren't you? I'm sure they're pretty good."
The boy's friends laugh, glancing at the Quad. K growls, glaring at the boy who made the comments. Confused on who he was protecting, K looks away after the boy backed off.
'What was that?' K thinks to himself, looking towards the ceiling.
It was a few minutes before the lines went down. The four separated for the moment to get their food, each of them noticing the silver card in their uniform pockets.
"What is this?" C questions to no one in particular.
The boy in front of her laughs, hearing her comment. He turns around, a small smile on his face, "You're new here, aren't you?"
She looks ahead, surprised. Gaining her composure, she chuckles, her voice light, "Is it that obvious?"
He smiles, brightly, "Of course. You're looking at the card confused. Every student here knows what that card does. It allows you to buy anything here in the cafeteria or the shopping district on the ground floor. It doesn't have a set limit since the government pays for the entire campus."
"So, it's our pass to get food and supplies or whatever," C sums up. "That's pretty cool, I guess."
"Pretty much," He shrugs. "But it's pretty rare for the academy to get new students here this late in the semester."
She laughs awkwardly. "I-I figured."
"So, Red, what's your name?"
Her eyes widened, not sure what to say. "Uh, my name? You know, just call me Red."
He grins, "Okay, Red, well I'm Parker. I think you and I will get along just fine."
She smiles, her eyes bright.
She looks down at the card, curiously. She nods and points to ahead, "I think it's your turn to order."
He looks ahead and chuckles, "I guess it is."
She finally gets a good look at him, as she watches him curiously. His brown hair is slightly messy but he makes it work. He looks pretty fit as his uniform hugs his body.
'Not bad,' she giggles quietly. 'But I don't think I can trust him just yet.'
As soon as he finishes, he looks back and gestures in front of him. "It's your turn, my lady."
"Thank you, kind sir," C giggles, as she walks forward to order. She turns around after ordering and notices Parker is still there, waiting for her. They stare at each other, not saying a word.
She giggles, again. "I have to get back to my friends, but hopefully I'll see you soon, huh?"
"Definitely."
We both grab our food and head in the opposite direction. C gets back to N and the boys to see the three of them smirking.
She eyes them, "What?"
"So you and the boy, huh?" T smirks, teasing her.
She rolls her eyes, "We just met, T. It's nothing. Besides, his name is Parker. That's it, that's all I know."
"So, you don't trust him?" N asks, eyebrows raised.
C sighs, "Not yet. But I'm not sure about him."
K mentions, "He looks trustworthy."
C motions K to continue. So he does, "But I wouldn't trust him. Not until you know he won't betray you. Some guys aren't the best."
"I know, I don't. Parker seems trustworthy but his eyes say a different story. And when you say some guys, K... Do you mean yourself, too?"
K scoffs, "Come on, C. I'm not that bad, right N?"
N rolls her eyes, a small smile appears on her face. K takes it as an agreement, "See? I'm not that bad."
C chuckles, "Whatever."
The four sit in silence, eating the food they bought. One by one, each of them finishes their food. K starts another conversation.
"So, C. Want to tell us about that Parker boy?" K asks, smirking. He leaned against the chair, "I mean, you gotta have something to say about him?"
"Nope! So screw off, K," C bluntly says. "Until I feel like I trust him, you're not getting anything from me."
"K, leave her alone," N reprimands, elbowing him softly. "When she feels like telling us, I'm sure she will in due time."
She faces C, her eyes making contact, "Won't you now?"
Staring directly at her, C mutters, "Fine. But after I get to know him more."
"Fine," N and K respond, simultaneously.
Everyone nods, getting up to head back to the dorm room. No one notices the few people watching them as they head into the elevator going up.
"Something is up with them, I know it," One says to their friends next to them.
