Note :
My first story on Ao3, and the first abiut Deancas. Hope you will enjoy the story as much as I do while writing it. This story is meant to be short, but I'll see how long I can keep it going, but when I'll run out of inspiration, I stop !
There might be typo, I am not a english native speaker, so comments are highly appreciated (on my writing and how to improve it). I promise I read more than 5 times a chapter before publishing it, but I'll might miss something... The chapter is short, take it as an introduction.
The story will be first published on Ao3, and also translated in French later on Wattpad.
Anyway, hope you will like it!
Dean was lying on his bed, his clock announcing 1am already. He didn't see the time go by, all he could see was his sweet boyfriend. His angel Castiel. Shortened to Cas. He wasn't religious, but sometimes when he saw him, he asked himself if he hasn't fell from Heaven. Dean loved everything about him, he was absolutely perfect. His delicate smile, with these soft pink lips he wanted on his so much. His chubby cheeks even if he is the skinner guy Dean ever knew. His tired blue eyes glowing with the light of his phone. Everything.
Their families were all asleep already. Their parents didn't care about their late night calls, like they said a hundred times - and he quoted John, his father - "If you fail, it's your problem, not ours. We won't pay you another year". The other boy's said the same, but Dean know it's easier for him, he always had good mark, always the first, 10 hours of sleep or not.
His room was still. No sounds. No lights. Nothing except Cas' giggles through the screen of Dean's phone. He smiled fondly when his boyfriend rolled himself in his bed and then, closed his eyes and sighed with relief.
"You look exhausted." Dean simply said.
Castiel opened his eyes a little to look at Dean. His eyes. Green. So green. And his freckles. So much of them, sparkled under his eyes and his cheeks. The tiredness wasn't making him think straight, but he noticed the dark circles.
"So do you."
"Nah, I'm fine."
"Oh really? You haven't stopped yawning since we started the call" he narrowed his eyes "you're tired, or I am boring."
Dean laughed and shook his head.
"No, no, I yawn because you do. You're exhausted, sweetheart. You should go to sleep."
"No that's okay I can stay."
"Cas…"
"Dean I want to keep talking with you!" he complained.
"Cas please I'd love to, but there's school tomorrow and I don't want you to be tired or late or anything…"
"Aw you're so adorable, you take care of me. I love you so much."
"That's my job as protective boyfriend. I love too." he grinned.
" But I am not four anymore, I can take care of myself too and I decide that I'm not going to bed now."
He put his head on his pillow and said :
"Please, keep talking."
"Alright sweetie, anything." Castiel can make Dean do anything, and he knew it.
Dean talked about the University, how annoying was Charlie with her girlfriend Dorothy, and how she always ask him about Cas and him. He also told him about exams, that school was hard and that he couldn't wait to take the family business, his dad's garage. It wasn't even a discussion, Dean talked, and all Cas did was nodding and smiling.
"God I sound so selfish… What about you? How's uni in Florida ? English and literature is still interesting? It seems pretty boring to me."
"It's nice."
"And…?"
"And I want to see you."
"Me too" he sighted "Soon, maybe. And you know how scared I am to take the plane, right? I swear I'm trying my best to save enough money, I've got my license and I could take the impala-"
"Dean. I know."
"But you don't know how much I want to hold your hand right now." he said.
Castiel flashed a sad smile.
"Florida is nice, school is okay, I guess? I've got good mark, like always."
"Nerd."
"You're just jealous."
"Maybe? Anyway. Summer break is coming. 1 week left to go, and then, 11 weeks of Netflix & Chill!"
Cas laughed. Dean always wanted to look like the funny guy of the class to him, but Cas knew was a lot smarter than he seemed.
"Gotta go take a glass of water, I'll be back soon."
"Love you." Cas said.
"Love you too." Dean muttered.
Dean woke up and crossed the corridor to the kitchen. He was careful to not wake up Sammy, or his parents.
He opened the cupboard and took a glass. He opened the tap and filled it. When he got into his room, he noticed that Cas has fell asleep while he was gone.
"Good night, angel."
His boyfriend looked so cute, his messy dark hair scattered on his blue sparkled pillow, and his eyes delicately closed with the relieved expression of a man who hadn't a proper sleep for a while. Dean stared at him admirably for a few minutes, before laying on his bed too. Dean didn't end up the face call. The last thing he wanted to see that day was Cas, and hearing his breath through the phone. He closed his eyes, and slowly fell asleep.
