And I learned It From You...

My Father was a great, noble, man. He gave us food, a respectable place called home, raised us, he even gave my older brother his kidney when he needed surgery. None of us knew why ANYONE would do this to him. What was left of him was just laying there … just … just laying there on the kitchen table.

My name is Aiden, Aiden J. Morgan. I am currently 22 years old. My father was, well I really want to leave it as “Dispatched.” My Dad’s name is Grant. He turned 48 today, and was divorced back in 01’. I have two siblings, Amy and Alex. Alex is 24 and Amy is 17. Amy is currently living with me while she is finishing high school. We, well at least I, haven’t talk with our mother, Rebecca, since my Dad divorced her. Honestly, too much has happened, that I will NOT go into detail about that mess. Maybe another time mate’. But for now, I will tell you what has happened before my arrival here.

It was 2:29pm, “Yes, thank you so much,” as I spoke in the phone. “Amy, it’s time to see Mom.” “Great! I have to see the woman who probably killed Dad!” Amy said in an un-forgivable tone. “Please Cookie,” as I said to calm her down, “you and I both know she has done horrible things to Dad, nevertheless, we don’t know for sure she had anything to do with this. Now come on, we have to meet her and Alex”

Later, I drove my sister down to the police station to give our interviews. My sister didn’t say one word to my mother. Amy didn’t even look at her; I don’t blame her at all. Mom has done shameful, unspeakable things. Plus, Rebecca saw us as these titles: Alex was Dad’s favorite, Aiden the one who gets things done, and Amy was “MeiMei.” MeiMei means “Little Sister” in Chinese. Why Chinese? She absolutely loves to read anime books. I mean, they’re nice titles, but, Mom only thought of us as that, we couldn’t have be a, “so-and-so,” she only knew us as her little given names. It was a little strange, but I digress.

After we had said what we did “on the date of so-on and so-on,” and all that, Alex left in complete sorrow about all this talk about Dad, he just left without a word. Mom invited us for some late lunch. “Would you like some lunch you two?” I kindly said no thank you to her as Amy and I walked to my car. “WOULD YOU LIKE SOME LUNCH YOU TWO?” Amy mimicked immaturely. I’m not going to lie, I did giggle inside, but I told Amy, “Cookie, I love you so much, you’re my little sis’. But you have to learn when it is or when it isn’t a good time to do that.”

In the evening, as I lied in bed. I kept thinking to myself who in the world did it? Why? I was just wanting to know. I kept picturing what was left of Dad on the table. As well as Mom. Since all this commotion with seeing my mother, I actually was maybe considering what Amy said. What if Mom really did kill him? I know she hates, well, hated him, but I don’t think so far to kill him. Would she? I fell asleep that night with that thought rattling in my head.

The next day, Amy went to school, and I was just alone at my apartment. I was watching some Police/Investigation show, and it got me to think. I just don’t know why, but I have a fascination towards the murders in these types of shows. It seems so interesting, the ways and methods they use. But, one might say that would be, “adding insult to injury” seeing how my dad was dispatched not too long ago. When I think about him, I do get sad, but I think Mom’s little title of me fits myself. “The one who gets things done.” I would rather just find out who did it, and just move on, you know? Well, I doubt you would understand. If your father was dispatched I bet you would be in deep sorrow. Just like Dad’s Favorite.

I went in to the restaurant where Alex works at to give him a little surprise and try to cheer him up. The hostess was there, and I asked, “Where’s Alex? I’m his brother.” She explained, “Alex didn’t come to work today, the boss actually gave him a week off to recuperate” “I see, well thank you,” I said walking away. I really hope Alex is okay, you know? He is 24, but I mean, him and Dad where really close. Alex had his right kidney for crying out loud! So why would I think he would be better to go to work, with having to see all of those kitchen tables all day.

Amy came home from school this afternoon with a 5-page writing assignment and asked for my help. Honestly, Amy doesn’t like to be forced upon to write, but she likes to write stories at her own time, and own way. I told her to read some Edger Allen Poe for some inspiration. Of course, she didn’t take my advice. She can be so immature sometimes, but she does take that trait from Mom. I also mentioned, “Why not write about Dad? Maybe you could use him to make a daring adventure story.” She did kind of like that idea. You know, she did send me a copy of her graded paper here. Amy got an A+. I’m so proud of her, I really am.

I invited Alex over for some T.V. dinner at my place that night. But all he said on the phone was, “No thank you.” And he quickly hung up. I believe he needs a little more time to think about all of this. I just hope he is okay. Amy made a snide comment about Alex. It’s a little humorous. All of us, three siblings, I think I’m the most stable. Alex is in deep depression and sorrow about Dad’s death. And Amy just wants answers to it all, now. And is using her past anger towards Mom, and is wanting to believe Mom did it. I do too want answers, but I will keep an open mind. But for now, Alex and Amy is all I have as family.

A couple days later, I finally convinced Alex to come over and have dinner with us. I tried to make decent evening meal conversation, but it was honestly very little talk, and more towards “awkward Silence.” I started to wonder… Is this it? Will our family just forever become broken? Our Father has been dispatched, we have no intentions to speak with our Mother, Alex will just be in sorrow, and Amy will graduate and suspect Mom did it forever. Well, I hope Mom didn’t do it. If she did, this would be one insane family. I hope I get a form of closure to all of this.

-RING RING- My phone went off the next afternoon. It was the police station calling me. “Mr. Morgan-“ I interrupted, “Please call me Aiden, Mr. Morgan was my Father.” Correcting himself, the officer said, “Aiden, we have found fingerprints around your dad’s throat, that seems unnatural. We have sent them to our labs, and we will get back to you tomorrow at 1:00pm with a lead.”

I was so excited late that night, I couldn’t sleep. I can’t wait till we find out who it is, and bring him or her to justice. Not just for me, not for Amy, not for Alex, nor my mother, for my dad. Justice for my dad. Justice for Dad. He’ll be so proud that this is being solved.

Well, the day has come, it’s 12:48pm and Alex, Amy, and I are driving there. It was soundless in the car, but we were ready. I walked in the Sargent’s office, while Alex and Amy wait in the lounge. I sat down in a small chair in front of the Sargent’s desk. He said in a deep, toned, voice, “Hello Aiden, I’m Sargent K.” I was literally screaming in my head for who dispatched Dad. Sargent K. continued, “Our lab boys have found a match to the fingerprints on your father.” –BUZ BUZZ- a small communicator on his desk buzzed in, “Sargent K, they’re here” “Good, send them in.” The Police Sargent replied.

Then, three men walked in the door. Two of them were Police Officers, and the third was dressed in a uniform that has a small logo of two “A”’s next to each other, in a small diamond shape. Sargent K said, “Alex Phillip Morgan, you are under arrest be 1st degree murder of Grant Aiden Morgan. I will now read you your rights.” “Please, what\’s going on? My name is Aiden.\” \”Don\’t play games Alex,\” as one of the officers said to me. \”BUT MY NAME IS AIDEN!!” as I screamed out, “PLEASE LISTEN!” As the two officers where pulling me out, I’ve notice, Amy and Alex were no longer in the waiting room.

“So, Dr. Quinn, that’s how I’ve got here.”

“That’s a wonderful introduction, and I’m glad you have a warm welcome to the Asylum, but look at the time. Our session is over.”

“Okay Doctor, see you next week.”

“Oh and one last thing Aiden, I really want to hear Alex next session. I want to hear him. May I please?"
