Deceit was a very curious kid. He loved wild life and spent a lot of time studying it. After accidentally trespassing into a Dragon-Witch's garden as he followed a deer he was cursed.

Half of his face was covered in scales and his pupil was slit like a snakes. He hoped that was where the curse ended.

The first time the curse kicked in was when he was wondering the imagination with the Duke by his side. Deceit was the first to notice an injured bird on the path. The Duke's first reaction was to try and eat it. Deceit stopped him before he actually was able to.

"Why can't I eat it?" The Duke complained.

"It isn't still alive. If it lives you can eat it." Deceit says before taking it out of the Duke's hands. As soon as Deceit grabbed it it fell limp.

"It died!" The Duke exclaimed, snatching it out of Deceit's hands and swallowing it whole.

The second time it was a wolf. He was lying next to a tree, starting off into the distance. Deceit went over to see what was wrong and if he could help. The second he placed a hand on the wolf's side the wolf turned towards him before falling to the floor, dead.

Everything he touched perished. Animals died, plants wilted and sides faded into orbs of light. The others kept there distance from him. Name calling started and objects were thrown at him. This caused Deceit to become colder. He became manipulative and intimating. The scales and snake eye didn't help. The others soon feared him, with The Duke being the only exception. But then again, he feared nothing.

When Anxiety first formed Deceit jumped at the opportunity to have a fresh start. Anxiety was an interesting character. He wore all black and had dark eyeshadow under his eyes.

Deceit reached out to touch his shoulder before jerking away. Shoving his hands in his pockets he called out what he represented instead.

The trio was an odd group of friends but they worked out. Virgil, with his new rank in the light sides spent ess time with the two but that was fine. They made the best out of what time they did have together. Virgil kept them updated on how Thomas was doing and what Roman was up to, per Remus' request.

When Deceit met the others he was disguised as Patton. Virgil wasn't too happy about that and the two got into an argument.

The next time it was Logan. Each time he was careful of every single movement he made. He didn't want to harm anyone or anything. Yet on the way out his hand lightly brushed against a flower. The flower wilted in front of everybody. Everyone stared at him as he quickly sunk out.

The stronger the bonds Virgil created with the light sides the more time he spent there. Night was the only team the trio of friends seen each other. It does didn't really matter to them, though. As long as they got to spend some time with each other they were happy.

Some nights they spent hours talking about the dumbest stuff and testing random theories they had. Others they just stared at the stars from a roof in a comfortable silence, at least until Remus blurts out a strange thought he had.

irgil revealed who he used to be after Remus made himself known. The others distanced themselves from him. Deceit and Remus hadn't been exactly left the best impression on them.

Virgil came into Deceit's room sobbing after that. Deceit tried to comfort him the best he could while keeping a distance.

"Dee?" Virgil asked, his body ce muffled by the pillow he was crying into.

"Hm?" Deceit asked, patting his back awkwardly with a stick. It was the best he could do.

"Can... Can I have a hug?" Virgil asked, looking up at him. His tears mixed with his eyeshadow and left black streaks down his cheeks. Deceit froze.

"You don't know that I can touch you." Deceit spoke, still patting him on the back.

"Please... I just want to disappear right now. Sides regenerate." Virgil cried, weakly holding his arms out for a hug.

Deceit paused. He knew he would regret what he was about to do but Virgil wanted it, right?

Deceit slowly inched forwards before enveloping Virgil into a soft hug. Tears streamed from his eyes as Virgil's cries got weaker and his body got heavier. Virgil let out one last sob before he fell limp in Deceit's arms.

Deceit cried, knowing that he killed one of his only friends. Virgil's body slowly faded into a purple orb before disappearing.

Virgil lied. Sides don't regenerate. Their role is given to someone nearby who can take their responsibility, in this case it was Deceit.

Virgil still existed but Deceit was gone. That's what they believe. No one even bothered to question why Virgil was afraid to touch anything living or why one eye had a yellow tint to it...
