Dana wasn't sure what to do...that doctor just told her she had to go with whatever Duncan said. How long would this last? The doctors weren't sure, they didn't think it was permanent but there was no for sure way that his memory would come back either. That darn sword handle hit his head at just the right spot and just the right angle to make things much more complicated.

Walking back into the room, Duncan smiled as he saw her enter. Oh lord what had she gotten herself into. She went and sat down beside Duncan as the doctor entered the room and was dead focused on his patient.

"Ok Duncan, tell me what you can remember. Do you remember getting married?" the doctor asked.

"I can't remember that part but I remember waking up to her, she was always there for me. Her smile is what helped me get out of bed in the morning. I feel like she's always been there to take care of me but I neglected her...I need to make that up to ya Dana. I truly am sorry, I love ya with all my heart." Duncan said as he turned and took Dana's hand in his, she made sure it was her right hand so he wouldn't notice she wasn't wearing a wedding ring.

Uh...well he was right, she did take care of him...did his memory make a mistake and somehow turn her from his assistant to his wife? Did he really have feelings for her? Or was this just the weird injury talking.

"Dana?" Duncan asked bringing her out of her train of thought. "You alright love? Ya be lookin in space."

"Sorry, I just was thinking about our past?" Dana said as she took Duncan's hand and gripped it.

"Do you have any children?" the doctor asked and Dana nearly lost it.

"No, we've started trying though haven't we?" Duncan said as he pulled her close to him and kissed her cheek.

"Yeah, just takes time." Dana agreed as she kissed Duncan's forehead.

"I wanna go home, back to the castle, I dunna wanna heal here." Duncan said and the doctor nodded.

After talking to Duncan the doctor agreed to let him go if he promised to come back for a scan or appointment weekly, he would still do memory exercises at the castle. Dana wasn't sure about it but she would go with what the doctor said. Hamish pulled her to the side and confided in her.

"I don't know which one has lost their mind more? The doctor or the boss, how can we just play along?" Hamish asked with a sigh. "no one can expect you to have feelings for him."

Dana stayed silent, she did have feelings for him. Feelings she had locked away and tried the best she could to keep them, Hamish caught onto this and his eyes widened.

"You have feelings for him? How? You know for a fact he treats you like a servant and yet you fell for him. Oh dana why oh why did you fall for him?" Hamish sighed.

"I couldn't help it! I tried Hamish please believe me I tried."

Hamish sighed and gave me a big hug, I knew he just didn't want me to end up like the girls he literally forgot the next morning.

Once back at the castle, Hamish ran ahead and told the rest of the staff to literally play along with whatever Duncan said. Shock and confusion galore. Duncan walked just ahead of Dana as they were about to walk up the stairs to the castle door Duncan suddenly stopped. Dana looked up to see what had happened and why he had stopped. She saw he was looking up, the sky was dismal but there was a small smile upon his face as the snow started to fall.

"Let's take a walk, just you and me." Duncan turned to Dana and asked her excited.

"You want to walk around the castle with me in the snow?" Dana repeated his idea to him.

"Yes, just you and me. Husband and wife." He smile as he pulled her into his arms.

Oh how was her heart going to stand it when he finally remembers they weren't husband and wife. Would he be made at her for going along with what the doctor thought was best? As he smiled and took her hand she decided not to worry about that at this moment. She could pretend for a little while.

He held hands with her as they walked along the land. He told her stories of his ancestors, that he remembered of course, still he told them in such detail and with such passion, she could tell he was proud of his heritage. He kept looking at her and smiling but once he looked down at her hand his smile disappeared.

"Where's your ring?" he questioned.

"Uh...don't you remember? I lost it and you promised me if you didn't find it you'd replace it?" Dana lied not sure he would actually believe what she had just said.

"What did you just say?" he questioned as his smile returned. "Then we best be getting ya a new one."

Dana just nodded not sure what else she could say at that moment, instead he pulled her into his arms and embraced her. She could hear him take in a deep breath in her hair, it was like he was trying to memorize her scent. She couldn't help but hold onto him, she could smell his aftershave that honestly she loved, she ran her fingers through his long dark hair, it was soft and you could tell her was well groomed.

"I love ya Dana, I donna wanna wake up without ya beside me again." Duncan said as he tightened his grip on her.

Dana's heart beat so fast she feared that Duncan may hear or feel it.

"I love you too Duncan, I promise I'll be there." She lied only halfly.

A part of her did really like him, a part she knew could grow to love him. Maybe that is what she feared. Duncan walked behind her, his arms still wrapped around her and place his head on top of hers. He was calm and didn't seem worried about anything now.

"When do ya think we can have a barin playin out in the snow?" he asked her and that made her heart stop.

"Only time will tell." Dana gulped trying to keep calm.

"Yet we can assist it." He said as she felt him move the hair from her neck and chastly kiss the skin on her neck.

"Duncan!" Hamish called out to them. "Dana! There ya are! Come in before ya catch yer death!"

Duncan laughed and turned to Hamish waving him off, taking Dana's arm he began to lead her to the main door of the castle. Once inside, Dana went to take off her coat only to have Duncan help her remove it and walk up the stairs to hang it. She had never seen him be so attentive, not with any of his dates...

"Come, no doubt Glen has food waitin." Duncan said offering her his hand after he took off his coat and hung it beside hers.

Dana smiled and took his hand. She didn't mind seeing this side of him. Glen's jaw dropped when he saw Duncan walk in with Dana on his arm. Hamish nudged his side to make his jaw return to its normal position. Quickly Hamish explained what had happened and Glen just shook his head. Duncan sat at the head of the table and the food was placed in front of him. Dana took the seat beside him and tried to think of what to do. She looked to Duncan who smiled at her.
