"See the house is nice", my mom told me trying to convince me that the move would be fun.
"Yeah, new house but it's not like I'm going to be in the house all the time", I groaned. Walking upstairs I went to go pick out my room.

Walking in I found this room and I instantly fell in love with it. Exploring I found out that there was a bathroom connected to it and a walk in closet. Maybe this move wasn't going to be too bad.

I turned around as my mom walked in.
"I brought your bags up", she told me motioning to the bags on the floor. Instantly I felt bad that she carried my heavy bags up while I was looking around.
"You didn't have to I could've done it", I told her softly.
"Well I did, so anyways chinese or pizza", she questioned looking around.
"Um...pizza most definitely", I answered taking the bags into the room.
She hummed and left the room. I started with the bags that had my clothes first. Then I moved on to putting the bathroom hygiene stuff in the bathroom, and the rest I put on the desk to put away later.
-2 hours later-
I flopped onto the bed tired, did my mom already get the pizza I thought as my stomach growled. I should go check.
Walking down the stairs I heard my mom talking to someone. They both looked at me as I slipped on a stair, it was because of the socks I swear.
"Um... hi", I said awkwardly.
"Oh honey this is the sheriff, he came by with his son to welcome us", mom said excitedly. Man this must be one small town. I really didn't feel like socializing but I plastered on a fake smile and greeted them.
"Hi, my name is Addison", I said, reaching out to shake the Sheriff and his son's hand. The son inspected my hand before grabbing it into a loose sloppy handshake. Has nobody properly taught him? Gosh.
"Did you need something", my mom asked me.
"Um.. I was going to ask if you ordered the pizza already", I said fiddling with my fingers nervous from the stares of these new people. Usually I was confident, but they caught me off guard you know, at least I didn't change for bed yet.
"Oh sorry I totally forgot, here", she said quickly handing me here phone. I left the room quickly not wanting to be there anymore.
"You have a beautiful daughter", I heard the sheriff say before I ran upstairs. My question is what was my mom doing for 2 hours that caused her to forget about the one thing that matters. I realized that I didn't know my mom's password because she changed it yesterday, so I just used my phone to order the pizza. Apparently it was going to be here in 20 minutes, ugh.
