Chapter 1

Logan to the side! :)

Logan's P.O.V.

I shut off my alarm and got out of bed. I went into the bathroom and looked at myself. I couldn't see why the girls at school liked me so much. I really wasn't all that great looking, was I? Girls loved my brothers, which wasn't surprising but they liked me for some reason. I mean my brothers are all super muscular and very tall but I don't see what they see in me, I have some muscle but not as much as my brothers, I'm 6 foot like both my brothers. I stared at myself again before shrugging and getting in the shower. My brown hair slightly covering my green eyes as the water ran over it. I washed up then got out and got dressed. I made my way downstairs to see my older brother, Dakota, with the soon to be Beta, Sam. "Hey Dakota, hey Sam." I wave to them. "Hey Logan what's up?" Sam asks. "Not much, getting ready to head to school soon." I say and he nods. Sam and Dakota had graduated 2 years ago. Both of them are 20. I am 17, my other brother, Zach, is also 17, we are twins but look nothing alike, and our sister, Jasmine, is 15. We have an older sister but she's human, her name is Kat and she travels the world with her mate and husband, Luke.

All 3 of us guys are very protective over Jaz. She hates it but hey it's our job to keep the boys away from her, especially when dad isn't around because of pack business. Kat had also asked us to keep an eye on her. Jaz has a boyfriend at the moment but I felt something was off with him. I didn't know what yet, but I'd find out soon.

I turn to leave when I hear Jaz run down the stairs. "Logan wait!" I turn to face her. "What's up?" I ask. "Can you take me to school with you since you're going early?" She asks. "Why do you want to leave early?" I ask with a laugh and Dakota and Sam laugh as well. "She wants to go see Gabe's baseball practice." Zach says, walking down the stairs. I roll my eyes. "I'm telling you there's something weird about him Jasmine." I tell her and Zach nods. "I don't care what any of you think. Mom and dad approve." She glares at me. "But they don't see him at school like we do." I tell her. Gabe was a year younger than me and Zach. All three of us had grown up in school with him and had seen the way he treated most girls. He treated Jasmine fine when we weren't around but I wasn't so sure about when we were gone. "Fine Jaz, go get your stuff and get to my car." I tell her and her face lights up. "Thanks Logan! You're the best!" She runs out the door, grabbing her bag. When she's gone I look over at my brothers. "We agree that we still don't trust Gabe correct?" I ask and they both nod. Even Sam nods in agreement. "See you at school Zach." I say and he nods then I turn and walk out to my car.

We get to the school and Jasmine leave to go to the field. I watch her go. "Hey Logan!" I sigh as I hear that voice. I turn to see Amanda, a girl who I'd never date, standing before me. I wonder what she'll do when I find my mate. I mean, I don't want a mate but I have a few months till I turn 18 and have to find my mate. High ranked wolves like Alphas and Betas don't find their mate till they turn 18. I don't plan on keeping a mate, I want to explore the world like my sister. Not be stuck with a mate and pups my entire life.

I fake a smile. "Hey Amanda." I say. She walked up to me, trying to be seductive. It didn't work. God I hate when girls are like this. "I was wondering if you were doing anything after school today. If not, then maybe we could go to my place." She said. My wolf growled in my mind.

Get that slut away she's gross.

I know Kai, I know.

My wolf's name is Kai. He's got a different view on things than I do. "Sorry Amanda but I'm busy. School is very important to me, you know that." I tell her and she frowns. "Then maybe this weekend?" She asks with a smirk. I sigh. "You know I'm never gonna go out with you Amanda. I don't date girls like you." I say and she smiles again. "We don't have to date silly, we could just have a little fun." She places her hand on my shoulder. I growl. "I don't roll that way, go find some other guy to screw around with. I don't hang around sluts." I growl and she gasps. With that I turn and walk away from her.

Good riddance!

I know I know, I should have started with that and got it over faster.

Yeah, stop being so nice to people Logan.

I laugh at that. Maybe I was to nice to people but it's how I was towards people. My father said I shouldn't be so soft on everyone. I could be deadly if I wanted. I was a better fighter than both my brothers, sure they had a strength advantage but I was smart. I know tricks to use against someone bigger than me.

I went to my first class and sat in my usual stop in the front. People began walking in and I saw Amanda walk in with her friends. She looked at me and smiled but I looked away. She sat away from me thank god. I look up as a girl walks in. She's defiantly new. "Oh god, you're in here? Hey look ladies the ugly new bitch is here." I hear Amanda's annoying voice from the back of the room. The girl stares at the ground until she looks around for a seat. The only seat left was beside me. She sat down, avoiding eye contact. I thought she was a pretty girl, she had brown hair and it looked like she also had brown eyes. She wasn't to short but not to tall either, maybe about 5'4 or 5'5.

"Why are you sitting there?" I look at Amanda who is glaring at the girl. The girl looks up. "It's the only spot left.." She said. Her voice was soft and sweet. "Then maybe you should find a different class to go to where people actually want you there." Amanda sneered. "Amanda leave her alone. You don't need to bully everyone." I say and glare at her. "Oh fine. But only because you said so." She said, trying to act seductive again. "I already turned you down once. How many times do you have to get rejected to get that through that bleached head of yours?" I ask and smirk. She gasped then went back to her seat. The whole class was laughing and I noticed the new girl smiling. She had a pretty smile.

When she noticed me looking at her she looks down, her hair falling down to cover her face. "Sorry about Amanda. She's kind of the bully around here. Especially to new people." I say and she just nods. "I'm Logan, what's your name?" I ask. She looks up at me, pushing her hair away from her face. "Um.. I'm Kendall.." She said and I smile. "Nice to meet you Kendall. So you're new here?" I ask and she nods. "Well if you need any help just ask me. Oh, and a word of advice; Amanda isn't as tough as she acts." I whisper the last part and she laughs. I smile and sit back as the teacher walks in. "Alright clas- oh! We have a new student I see." Mr. Monroe is a funny teacher and always notices when something is different. "What is your name dear?" He asks, walking over to her. "K.. Kendall..." She says. Monroe claps his hands together. "Wonderful! I would like everyone to welcome Kendall, and be nice." He looks towards Amanda's crew as he speaks. I smile and watch as he goes back into his lesson.

After class I watched Kendall practically run from the room. Amanda was what she was afraid of. I walk out and look for the girl. "Kendall!" I yell her name and she turns and sees me. I see a slight smile on her face as I walk over to her. "Where are you going next?" I ask and she hands me her schedule. "We have a few other classes together. I see you're into music." I say, looking at where it said choir. "Yeah I guess." She said. "Do you sing?" I ask and she stiffens. "I uh... yeah.. but I'm not any good..." She says. "I doubt that. I'm sure you're great." I laugh and she smiles. "Well I'll see you around. You can sit with me and my friends at lunch if you like." I tell her and she nods. "Ok, thank you... Logan." She says to me, then turns and walks to her class. "Who's that hottie?" I roll my eyes and turn to see Zach. "New girl. Amanda was already bullying the poor girl so I stepped in to help. I invited her to sit with us at lunch today." I tell him as we start walking. "That's cool, what's her name?" He asks. "Kendall. She's very shy." I tell him and he nods. "Well I'm glad you're helping her because I don't know who else would have been so nice to her." He says. "Why?" I ask. "That new family is a group of rouges that were forced to move here by the head council." He explains. Well I must say I didn't expect that, she seemed to shy to be a rouge. "Well everyone deserves a friend. I won't judge her just because she's a rouge." I say as we walk into class. "Well I'm just telling you who she is." He says and I laugh. "Ok man I'll be fine, she just needs a friend and I'm willing to be that friend." I say he smirks. "No, not that kind of friend." I roll my eyes as I speak and he laughs. I ignore him the rest of class.
