Oregon rose to fame in mid 2015 with their single Boss, that peaked at the top charts on the Gaon Digital Chart and became the best-performing single of the year. It also won "Song of The Year" at two major music award shows-Melon Music Award and Mnet Asian Music Awards. Their subsequent single Sledgehammer claimed the top spot for five consecutive weeks. Reflection was the highest selling K-Pop girl group album of 2015, which sold 520,852 copies by year-end. ⌃ History
On March 28, 2014, JYP Entertainment (JYPE) announced that they would debut a new girl group for the first time after the debut of Miss A in 2010.
The members were known for busking in the artsy areas of Seoul and they had impressed many with their skillful singing and dancing. Thus, it came as no surprise to us that Oregon already established a small fan base even before their debut.
Promotional preparations began in April 2014 with the releases of teaser images and their participation in songs and advertisements. JYP Entertainment revealed the final line-up and name is the group on May 1, 2014.
