Chapter 12 The Tales

"Ok, second question, what happened to your arm?"

This question caught Sun off guard, but Arthur and Kassy didn't seem comfortable with the question.

"Huh...well I was hoping you would give me a few weeks before asking that question. Fine, I lost it during a demon attack, next question."

Sun wanted to move on to the next subject immediately, the siblings didn't want to push the subject, even though some of their curiosity only grew

"Ok third question...how can we help?"

This question caught Sun by surprise, trying his best to hide his expression.

"Tell me, you've seen what only of them can do. You do know multiple demons have unique magic and technology. So tell me, you have no connections with any of this, you aren't even forced to be a part of this war."

Sun stood up, looking down at the children, it's not like he wanted them to avoid danger and be safe, he was just confused by their question. A normal guy would run off when they were offered a choice to fight off a race of human eating monsters.

"Because...because, Po'Tchari gave us this chance to live at a normal life, he made sacrifices to get us here."

Ken stood up, his injuries sending pain throughout his body but he didn't care. He walks towards Sun, looking up at him, the gap between their heights can be immediately seen.

"Po'Tchari said we are special and to use our powers to make a difference. We refuse to let Po'Tchari down, not even an entire race will stop us, we'll destroy every demon so everyone can be safe!"

The other siblings stood beside Ken, especially Kai, who mostly stood to not get completely stood up by Kai. Sun was stunned, he thought these kids were just like every other kid, they were different.

"Well seeing as all of you decided to go out even though I ordered a city evacuation, I still don't like any of you, but I respect you guys for being braver than most. You guys have potential I'll give you that, I'll speak to Commander Tokugawa about this but I can't make any guarantees. I got to go, I need to check on Blitz and Ace."

Sun walked off to the door reaching for the door knob but suddenly he was interrupted.

"Mr.Sun!"

Kassy's head falls down to bow to Sun. The other siblings did the same, Kai being the most hesitant.

"T-thank you! A-and Kai is sorry for almost killing you!"

Kassy blurts our, Kai groans but he didn't choose to fight back this time. Sun didn't expect these continuous surprises, he only lets out a chuckle as he left the room.

The siblings look at each other, each of them know that they wanted to sign up into a war, but that doesn't mean doubts and fears weren't there in the first place.

But the sound of Sun screaming can be heard, they all panic as they run out of the room, even Kai and Ken. They run out to see another room opened with Sun inside. The siblings run inside but only see Blitz, covered with more bandages than Ken and Kai but standing in front of Sun, holding his katana near Sun's throat. Ace was sitting at a chair behind Blitz, completely baffled at what's going on.
