Virgil sighed as he waited for his boyfriend, Roman, to come home. Roman, Logan, and Patton all decided to go out for the day, leaving Virgil in the house alone with the dark sides. That wouldn't bother him, but today was different. Roman and Virgil had planned a date for tonight, and have been for the past week, but Roman wasn't back and it was almost 10 pm. When Virgil woke up that morning at about noon, Roman was getting ready to leave, saying they'll be back in about an hour, but there was no sign of the three returning any time soon. This was normal for Roman to do, but it still managed to hurt Virgil every time he did it.

You see, Virgil always though that Roman only decided to ask Virgil out because he had no one else. Logan and Patton were dating, and still are, and Remus and Deceit were dating at the time, and still are. So every time Roman blew off the dates they planned, it only made his fears worse. I mean, they've been dating for about a year now, and they've only ever been on 5 dates because Roman keeps blowing him off. Heck, at this point, Virgil barely sees Roman anymore. And whenever they do see one another, Roman usually doesn't listen to him and is always on his phone.

He tried to bring this up with Roman, but he pushed it aside as if it wasn't important, and whenever he went to Logan or Patton for advice or help, all they did was re-assure that Roman did love Virgil, but never gave him any reasoning as to why he should believe those words. So, in the end, Virgil ends up "complaining" to the dark sides. At least they try and help. They listen to every word and try and find reasons as to why he shouldn't just end it with Roman. Because the happiest any of the sides have seen Virgil was when he was with Roman, and Roman paid attention to him and treated Virgil as if he was his everything. But now, not even the dark sides could find reasons that Virgil should stay with Roman.

Roman always blew him off, ignored him most of the time they see one another, and Virgil had started to shut down from all this. He stopped eating except when Deceit forced him to eat, he barely talks anymore now, and the bags under his eyes have gotten so much worse. Deceit and Remus had started to notice all this about 3 months ago, but have been trying to keep him positive, even though they were the "evil" sides. They tended to be good when they cared about someone.

"What happened this time, Virgil?" Deceit asks as he sits down next to Virgil. "What did my brother do this time?" Remus leans over the side of the couch so he was leaning right next to Virgil. He pulled his knees up to his chest and rested his forehead on his knees. "Date night, but do you see him anywhere around?" Virgil asks, clutching his legs tighter trying to make himself disappear.

Deceit and Remus exchange a glance, feeling bad for him. "Hey, don't worry. I'm sure he'll be back before midnight and apologize for missing the date? I mean who knows, they might have gotten caught up in something, and lost track of time?" Deceit said though it sounded more like a question. Virgil sighs and pushes himself off of the couch. "Whatever the reason is, I'm done. I'll see you guys tomorrow." Virgil muttered and rushed off to his room. Deceit and Remus only sigh and head off to their shared room, worried about Virgil.

Virgil slammed his door, collapsing on his bed. He curled in on himself, the tears he was trying so hard to hold back spilling from his eyes in the living room, flowed down his face. He glanced at his nightstand drawer. But quickly he shook his head to get the thoughts that came flowing to his head away. His phone buzzed from his pocket, and he hesitantly turned on his phone. A message from Roman lit up the screen.

Princey<3: Hey babe, sorry I'm just not messaging you. I'm not going to make the date. Sorry.

Virgil's' hands started to shake as he read the message. He threw his phone away from him, it slams into the wall and breaking. He wanted to scream but instead bit his tongue so he wouldn't alert Deceit and Remus. He quickly turned and buried his face into his pillow to muffle his cries. It buzzed again, but instead of lighting up to show the text Roman sent, it showed white with a few other colors, and half of the screen completely black.
