Chapter 7: Permission to kiss you

back to Akiko's POV

I followed Yuna-san until the railway station.

"Yuna-san."

She stopped.

"I am really sorry for causing you a lot of trouble. I am really sorry that I run away without even explaining to you what  I did. But for now, I really have to go. You should go back now. They might be waiting for you."

I nodded.

I looked at her until she entered the train ...and until I couldn't see her anymore.

"Hmm. Should I even come back there. Otoosan would have left now because of something important and onii-chan he would have decided to go home now."

I continued walking towards the market.

"Oh, I should go to Hotaru's place."

I went there and again... I saw her big house. I usually don't go here especially when I am alone.

But for now, I want to talk to her.

The guards did let me enter and one maid came near me and guided me to where Hotaru is.

I saw Hotaru studying. ... again.

"Hey, Hotaru."

I sat near her.

"You know Yuna-san?"

"uhm"

"A while ago, we went to a tea...shop.. I guess. After a few minutes of chatting with her, I saw Otoosan-- Andou senpai.

"He is with my onii-chan. I never knew they knew each other."

"Maybe they did."

was her only answer.

"And what's even more surprising, my onii-chan knows Yuna-san. But it's actually weird that after seeing each other instead of hugging and talking, Yuna-san.... run away and told us that she has something to do."

"Well, there has to be a reason why she did that."

"uhm"

She continued studying while lay on her bed.

"Hotaru, what are you studying?"

"Math"

I was alarmed and so I stood up.

"Do we have a quiz?"

"Yes."

"Oh, my goodness. I should go now and study too."

I was fixing myself to go now..

"Akiko....."

I turned back maybe she is going to wish me luck.. or something.

"We also have a quiz in social studies."

"Oh....."

That didn't help me calm down. Oh Hotaru.

I went home and started to study right away.

The next day, I went there early to study social studies. It's our first subject after all.

A few minutes later, our teacher came in.

"Okay class, hide all your notes, books and cheating papers. I don't want cheater in my class."

So we started to keep our things ...not that we have our cheating paper also to keep.

We had our quiz for an hour....and it was hard.

During our break, Hotaru came near me.

"So how was it?"

"It was really hard...but it helped that I studied that yesterday."

"Uhm"

Hotaru looked from behind me so I also looked. It is senpai.

"Hey, let's go eat."

He asked us.

"We can't, we have quiz for math later. We need to study."

He didn't respond for a minute or so.

"Okay, I'll help you while we eat."

I looked at Hotaru and we both agreed.

We went to the canteen and bought drinks and cookies.

After that we looked for a place to study.

"Let's study there."

I pointed on the place near the entrance of the school garden.

We all went there and sat there.

"So where are your notes."

"Here."

I gave my notes to him. I wish he'll understand my hand writing.

"Let's start."

"Yes!!"

"So worded problems eh... okay. The height is defined in terms of the width, so I'll pick a variable for 'width', and then create an expression for the height.

"Let 'w' stand for with of the picture. The heigh h is 4/3 the width, so h = (4/3)w. Then.."

He looked at us.

"Why are you looking me like that?"

"I.... understood now."

"No, she's lying."

Hotaru continued.

"She is amazed that you can actually be serious."

"Wow, do I always look like a joker?"

Hotaru and I nodded.

And we laughed.

He continued teaching us until the bell rung.

"Oops, thank you very much senpai for teaching us."

"Sure. Good bye and Good luck to your quiz."

We went to our classroom now. I am thankful, that he helped us on this subject. I did understand it better.

....

After our class, I went to Hotaru.

"You know Hotaru, I more confident now that I will pass the quiz this time."

"That's good. Let's go now."

We prepared to go when senpai suddenly hold my hand and pulled me until we are at the rear of the school.

"Senpai.."

He went near me.

"Tell me, when I kissed you was it your first kiss."

I nodded.

"I am really sorry for doing that. For forcing you. But this time, I want to kiss you again.

"Will you allow me to kiss you again?"

That was not what I expected him to say.

"Senpai...."

was all I could say.

"Nevermind, let's go now."

He went with me as I walk my way home. But he felt so cold to me.

I sighed.
