The beast tracked its prey down and massacred the entire village except for one soul. She entered the rundown hut, drawn in by the cries of a human child. Crimson blood dripped onto the floor forming a pool of blood by her feet as she looked at the child who mirrored her actions except tears fell down her cheeks instead. She screamed at the small creature to stop as the incessant noise filled her ears with rage. The child's cries ceased almost immediately; causing the beast to smile with satisfaction, pleased with the human's obedience. The beast slowly approached the human child bending down the pick her up.
"I think I'm going to keep you little one, I've always wanted a pet but now I suppose I have to name you." She said as she picked the child up wrapping her arms around her.
"Let's go home..." She curiously looked at the sleeping human, taking in her unique features, whom only seconds ago had been crying. She wondered how she listened to her without a fight. How did such a small thing trust a beast like her. Was she brave or was she just simply stupid. No matter what she was, she felt like she had to protect her new found pet.
"Davina." She finally stated with a smile.

Seventeen years had passed since Adelaide had rescued her little pet. Only a few people knew about Davina's existence and she'd like to keep it that way. Since there were many rooms in the castle she managed to keep her hidden away in a room located in the west wing, only a handful of servants knew of her existence and all it took was for someone to be at the wrong place at the wrong time for her secret to be unraveled.
One of the servant's who usually went to clean Davina's room had mysteriously fallen ill and was replaced by a servant whom was not familiar with what lied in the west wing. Her lack of knowledge would be the beginning of something much bigger. She opened the room, like all the others, and started cleaning. Just as she stepped into the bathroom her peripheral vision caught a petite shadow running out of the large room but she quickly dismissed what she saw, believing she was going insane, and carried on cleaning.
Davina ran, as fast as her legs would allow her to go, down the castle's long halls while taking in the drawings etched on the walls. She didn't know how long her freedom would last so she decided to take in everything she could so she would have something else to remember, something else to dream about besides the four walls that had trapped her for seventeen years. Like a bird trapped in a cage she just wanted to be set free.
She came to a halt as she encountered two big chesnut doors. Without her touching them they slowly creaked open, she took this as a sign to enter without realising that once she had stepped through there was no going back from this.
This part of the castle felt so different to her, even though she'd never been able to explore the west wing it felt like her room but this was...different. She was drawn to a certain room, therefore she decided to open it. What's the worst that could happen she thought.
Just as a voice whispered in her head torture, slavery or if you're lucky... death she looked around until her eyes landed on a luminous figure in the corner of the room; she didn't expect to be greeted with stern bright blue eyes.
"And whom may you be?" He said harshly while walking towards Davina and grabbing her arm before she managed to slip away. A squeal escaped her lips as he tightened his grip on her arm, prepared to snap it like a twig if she didn't comply with his questions. She looked up at him with her emerald eyes, causing his eyes to darken.
"Don't make me repeat myself." He demanded.
"Davina." she whispered. Resulting in him loosening his grip on her arm but not completely letting go.
"I didn't ask for your name, I asked who you were." He spat harshly evoking an unfiltered response from her as she stared straight into his blue orbs.
"Then you should've been more specific with your question. I answered as I could. I don't know who I am. All I know is the name given to me by the woman who kept me prisoner in that room for all those years; Adelaide." His eyes widened as he completely released her this time.
"What on earth would my mother want with someone like you and why would she feel the need to trap and hide your existence from everyone else?" He asked angrily.
"Your despicable mother is the one who's tortured me all these years?" She shrieked. "And what the hell do you mean by someone like me." She knew that he could kill her any second or at least make her regret her words but she was seething with anger. No matter what they did to her she wasn't going to passively accept anymore torture without at least putting up a fight.
"Human." He replied with disgust laced in his voice.
