Everything that will happen has already happened before

                For once, Leila thought that something weird has happened to her bestfriend. She thought he will be lonely because he broke up with his long-term girlfriend but all she sees is a version of Aaron who is unusually happy.

For the first time in the long time, Aaron is excited on his way to school. He just received a text from Kristoff that they have to see each other in the late evening without Leila. However, his happiness instantly evaporated the moment he entered the college.

Aaron can sense weird looks hovering towards him noong papunta siya sa classroom nila. Leila was there too but she just gave him a nod and did not speak with him. It was until five minutes later when Leila texted him and he cannot believe what he just read.

                “Welcome. Kalat nang kayo ng boyfriend mo.” Saka siya nilapitan ni Leila.

                “Shit.” Maikling sabi ni Aaron. While he seemed happy with the message, he forgot to take consideration what people might say about them. At hindi sila, sa pagkakaalam niya. He is quite confused if he’s going to defend himself or just surrender and face the truth that he, Aaron, just kissed a guy out of his own will.

                Saka siya nilapitan ni Leila. He knew it was not about their reconciliation. Since she is Lara’s bestfriend, tiyak niyang iyon ang magiging usapan and he sensed that it is not going anywhere good.

                “Hindi mo siya iniyakan? Hindi ka ba niya tinatawagan?”

                Nawala ang ngiti sa mukha ni Aaron. Hindi siya makasagot.

                Saka siya sinampal ng sobrang lakas ng dalaga. Aaron almost lost his consciousness that moment.

                “Tang-ina mo Aaron. Pinaiyak mo si Lara. Alam ko kung bakit. Akina cellphone mo. Let me see iyong inbox mo.”

                “Ayoko.” Maikling sagot ni Aaron. Hindi na nakapagtimpi si Leila sa binata kaya pahiyaw na nitong sinagot ang binata. Nawalan na rin siya ng pakialam sa mga kaklase niya sa classroom.

                “Aaron?! Kasama bang nawala ang pag-iisip mo noong naghalikan kayo?! Iyong girlfriend mo, isang linggo ka nang tinatawagan, hindi mo sinasagot?! Ano? Mas gusto mo kauri mo?! Sige, mag-su-”

                Aaron snapped. He’s normally a cool headed guy who does not fight back to women but what she said just shattered him. Sinagot niya ng pahiyaw ang dalaga. It was loud enough to be heard in the classroom.

                “Tang-ina naman Leila May, sa halip na tulungan mo akong ayusin ang nasa isip ko. Isa ka pa sa nanggugulo. Tingin mo hindi rin ako nalilito?! Tang-ina, akala ko kaibigan ko makakaintindi sa kin. Mali ako.” Aaron said then he stormed out of the room. Nawalan na siya ng pakialam sa klase. Si Leila naman, hindi kaagad nakareact. Nang maisip niya ang kanyang mga nasabi, umiyak na lang siya.

                If he wants the records straight, he should see Kristoff then say that it was just due to his raging hormones that time. If he wants to return to his peaceful yet boring lifestyle, he must stop seeing Kristoff. If he wants Lara back, he must go back in the province and say sorry to the poor girl. Yet something tells him not to. No one’s gonna save him now.

                 “Fuck this life. Wala nang magsasalba sa akin.” Aaron realized. “Not even Leila.” Lumunok siya saka naisip si Kristoff. “Maybe he’s brave enough to stand by me.”
