The boy in the blue overalls
He runs
When he's out of breath
He runs to numb his lungs
Obscuring all feelings ever felt
Draining the cup to the very last drop
Subconscious now rules...
He runs and runs till his feet wear out
His very soles crying beneath him
To an imaginary place where there is no rain
nor shine nor sleet nor snow or pain
A damp place maybe where he can law low
Watching things continue from a frosty glass
Bronze might be something within his reach
He pushes harder and tries to outrun his heart
For the straws in his hat and his brain have been obliterated
Logic you could say was never there
It was useless...
Just provoking a roar out of an internal bear.
Making him feel emotions not worth while
The girl in a dress is alongside him now
Her polka dots swaying and dancing about
She's running now skipping with a set purpose in her eyes
She's chosen
The poison is draining from her cup
Another pebble has dropped hopefully
Perhaps the incessant run won't be so lonely...
