Y/N POV

After the long flight to Cairo, we all gathered on a bus to take us to the hotel we were staying at. Once we get to the hotel we are greeted by our guides for the visit, Professor Adam and Courtney Hill. "Good day students, welcome to Cairo! We are thrilled to have a few dedicated students to help with the dig site we are leading." Adam greeted. "Yes it will be a lot of hard and rewarding work, and we appreciate your help. Why don't you all get settled in. Since we have an odd number of you, Miss (Y/L/N) we have arranged for you to have a room for yourself, everyone else will be paired with a roommate, Will and Ashton, and Cassie and Ally." Courtney announced. I couldn't help but be relieved, I had no desire to share a room with Ally, however I did feel bad for Ashton and Cassie.

We all got settled in our rooms, and I was blown away with the room I had gotten. It was large enough to be a royal suite. It was simply gorgeous. I took my time to unpack and heard a knock at the door. Opening the door it revealed Professor Courtney. "Hello (y/n), my our friend gave you an incredible suite. I do hope you like it?" She said politely. "Oh yes Professor Courtney, this is a wonderful suite, but how did I manage to get this whole suite to myself?" I asked. "Well just as you and the rest of your group were on your way here, a local came to us and told us that you were going to need your own room and that we needed to make sure that you were given the best of the best here," Courtney explained. "Why would a local want me to have the best of the best here?" I questioned. "He said that you were the most dedicated to Egyptian culture and history, so you had deserved to experience it in luxury," she commented. I blushed, yes I do love Egypt, but I didn't think anyone would know that much about me. Hopefully I get to meet this local and thank him for the efforts.

Shortly after my chat with Courtney, she and Adam returned with the rest of my group so we could travel to the work site. "Ugh, why does she of all people get the royal suite? Obviously I am the most beautiful woman on the trip, it should be mine!" my eye twitched at Ally. "The only reason you are on the trip is because you slutted your way here, you have no interest in Egypt you just wanted to get out of class!" I snapped. She quickly shut up her comments and got ready to go. As Courtney and Adam drove us to the site so we could start our work, I couldn't help but take in the beauty of Egypt. The city was beautiful, the dunes were almost golden with the way the sunlight reflected off it. Soon we were far beyond the city in the hot and dry desert.

"Welcome to our work site, we haven't found much yet but maybe one of you can see something we haven't seen yet," Adam announced. I was bouncing in my seat now, I couldn't wait to see what lied beneath the Earth from thousands of years ago. I quickly get my digging gear on and start to work with the guidance of Courtney and Adam. "Seems that stranger was right about (y/n), did he give his name at all babe?" Courtney asked her husband. "Nope no name, just that he would be back to see her and if we uncover anything big," Adam replied.

"Ugh this heat is ridiculous, why did I agree to this trip," Will complained. "I don't know, maybe because you wanted to find some international hook up?" Ash replied. "Oh shut up dude, like you wouldn't do the same thing if you had my good looks," Will remarked. "No I would be happy with just the one girl I have my heart set on," Ash said. Will just rolled his eyes. "I agree with Will, no trip is worth this hard work, why didn't anyone tell me it would be like this!?!?" Ally whined. I just groaned and started walking away so I could focus on my work.

As I was walking away I tripped over a stone and instead of a nice soft landing in the sand, I fell an extra 15 feet down to an ancient tomb! I looked around and felt something slither across my hand. Taking a deep breath and looking down calmly, I see a rasp slithering away from me. I knew that if I spooked it I would be a goner. Suddenly the poisonous snake was flung away from me across the room. "(y/n)! Are you okay!?!?" I heard Courtney and Adam shout from above me. "Yes I am alright, but I think I hit the jackpot of tombs down here!" I replied. "Hold on, we'll be right down," the both responded. While they looked around for a way down, I decided to take a look around myself and saw a simple and plain sarcophagus at the end of the room. From my research I know that usually the person's name is inscribed somewhere on here, but from my translations, I am not seeing any sign of a name. How is it that this room is glorious, but the sarcophagus itself is so plain?  Rooms like this tell me that the person was wealthy and also really good, and possibly a pharaoh, but the sarcophagus is so plain, for a terrible person or even a member of the pharaoh's court.  While I continued my exploration I failed to notice the burning red eyes that were watching me in the shadows.

Atem's POV

I had been wandering in the darkness for so long, I was practically numb to all senses. 5000 years of being trapped here with no way of getting out of this tomb. My spirit forced to reside where my body laid. All the sudden the entrance to my tomb opened and someone came falling through. I was about to turn away as it was probably just another treasure hunter, but I quickly realized that it was a woman who had fallen through my tomb. She had (h/c) hair and was dressed in short tan pants, a white t-shirt, and tan vest. She was beautiful and looked very familiar. As she was looking around, she and I noticed a rasp slithering on her hand, I couldn't let a beautiful woman like that be poisoned! I forced the snake across the room and hid in the shadows as she got up to look around. I must keep a close eye on this woman, I feel as though, I am meant to protect her.
