Ceresa was looking out of a hole in her torn down room, she saw the green grass outside as the light streamed through the small cracks in her wooden shack. She stretched her arms and legs but made sure to not cut them on the exposed bits of metal nor to fall of the slope of old clothes which made her bed. Her mouth tasted bitter and her throat was dry and soar. She had nothing to sooth the pain which annoyed her. A pass time she wrote in her diary. She smoothly glided of her bed and pulled it out. Then she wrote,

Dear Diary,
Father is still not home, he said he'll be back in 2 weeks but its been almost 3 months, mother isn't holding up well. She's been feeling sick lately and could barely move, it doesn't help that there is no medicine to help her. She's always dazed, she wakes up like an angel, but one of sadness and melancholy. My brother isn't finding any food lately, for some reason there has been no animals at all. It's spring! the animals should be out. None of the chickens have laid eggs and it has come to the point where we can't even feed them. Besides all those shitty things, the dragon eggs have started to shake lately. Hopefully, someday they'll hatch into beautiful, gracious dragons, and then I can finally start my journey to reach level 100. Maybe-

But before she could finish the front door slammed open, she looked out and saw a figure. It was tall and muscular. It's clothing tattered and worn. A hat fell onto the floor, it was green and muddy. The figure threw their trench coat which landed on the floor with force. Ceresa could then make out the figure standing ominously in her house, it was a man. He scratched his dry stubble and walked in further. His haunting grey eyes made her uncomfortable, and his skin was wrinkled and bruised. She then recognised who it was, it was her father. He looked to be out of breath, his hands on his knees as he took in big breaths. But before she could say anything, her father rushed into his room and she could hear rattling coming through the thin walls. Her mother was in her bed and was startled by the noise, she took in a breath of panic and noticed the man in her room.
"Harold?..." she said eerily calm, "What's going on?"
Harold was going through boxes and cupboards whilst grabbing random things he danced around the room like a maniac and threw papers around aimlessly, sweat was dripping down from his face and the floors were covered in mud. Ceresa looked in through the frame, she saw her sickly mother try her best to get out of her bed whilst her father didn't even notice her or Ceresa.
"Father, What's-"
"I got no time to talk," he said breathily
He then stopped rummaging through the mess and walked up to her, he bent forward and kissed her forwards, "Make sure, to not talk to anyone you don't trust and grab one of those dragon eggs and run as far away as you can. I'll see you soon sweetheart."
"But dad I-" he then held her hands open and discreetly put a bunch of gold coins in her palms and then placed a rugged stick in her pocket. He closed her hands tightly and started to tear up, both of them looked at each other but didn't say a word. Then, Ceresa's grandmother spoke,
"Why do you get yourself into these situations, Harold?" she said with worry,
"I'm sorry mother, but I have to go," just as he said that, he bolted out of the door leaving Ceresa in shock. Get those eggs and run... those words repeated in her head, she then heard a thump from behind her, she turned around and her mother was on the floor and was streaming tears from her eyes. Ceresa struggled to breathe and she nearly collapsed onto the floor. She held her composure however and instead helped her mother up. She helped her mother into her bed and her mother spoke,
"Ceresa..."
"Yes, mother?"
"Take...this..." she then took off the locket and placed it around Ceresa's neck. Her mother then started tearing up, "You look just like me when I was your age." she then started to twirl Cerea's long, dark brown hair. "Go..." she said heartbroken, Cerea then started crying herself,
"No, I won't go, I can't leave you here."
"You have too, you have no choice..."
"What about George? he's only 6!" All of a sudden, the sounds of screaming could be heard from outside, the booming voices caught Ceresa and her mother off guard.
"Quickly! Go! before they steal the eggs! Just take one and leave. We need to make them think they have them all!" she said raspily
Ceresa, unwillingly, let go of her mother's grip and ran out of the room into her own. As she packed her essentials the door slammed open and men wearing white and black cloaks came bursting through. To buy herself some time, she moved her desk in front of the door to keep them from coming in. Her heart pounded as she nearly froze again. She threw everything into her bottomless bag and ran into a hidden hole behind her bed where the dragon eggs were being kept. She crawled through the thin gap as the men flooded her parents' room,
"WHERE ARE THE EGGS?!" They shouted
"I don't know." her mother said, the men then trashed items around trying to find the eggs, knowing her time was almost up, Ceresa only grabbed one of the eggs and placed it into her bag.
"IT'S NOT HERE! CHECK THE GIRL'S ROOM!"
Ceresa's heart stopped in the heat of the moment, she crawled out of the hole and laid eggs on the floor, easy to see. She then, using her body weight, ran up against the wall and went through it, pieces of wood and straw went flying and tore her skin. She fell onto the grass and she huddled her bag. The men tried to enter her room but the desk made it difficult to open. She quickly bounced back up and ran as fast as she could, across the fields hoping to run into a forest. As she ran she heard the door to her room slam open, she looked back to see the men but couldn't hear what they were screaming. She continued running and ran into a small patch of trees which soon turned into a forest. She then came to a halt and threw her bag next to a tree and sat down next to taking in huge, deep breaths. She reached into her bag and pulled out the dragon egg and held it close to her. She was now holding the very last dragon egg known to man.
