I screamed as a burning sensation ripped through my scalp, tearing out chunks of hair and hearing them rip, I cried harder.
"please, im sorry. PLEASE" I screamed, or tried to. No sound escaped as the kidnapper did everything to avoid my thrashing legs. The ski mask they wore was slowly inching up their chin as I clawed at their arms.
"enough, STOP FIGHTING" He bellowed. I gasped when he finally spoke. He opened his mouth again but all that came out was a shrill ringing noise.
I jolted out of bed, narrowly avoiding falling on my butt. Sitting down on my floor, I steadied my breathing by clutching my knees to my chest. I finally stand and make my way to my bathroom. Gently caressing the black smudgy mark going from the middle of my forehead to the top of my head, I slowly brush my hair and bangs so that no strand is out of place. I swiped some lip gloss and mascara on and ran to my closet.
"Oh shit, im late," I muttered, tossing my pajamas to the side, and wiggling into an old pair of leggings and my favorite hoodie. I knotted my laces, yanked my backpack onto my shoulder and ran down the stairs.
"Lincoln!" My brother Taylor shouted, I slowed down and looked around the corner to the kitchen table and raised my eyebrow. "can you take me to school this morning? Moms still asleep," He asked. I nodded and pointed to the door.
"You got five minutes Tay" I winked, he laughed and tipped his bowl, nearly spilling all of his cereal on himself.

As we walked, Tay rubbed his arm uncomfortably. I gave him a questioning look and lifted his sleeve, noticing his brand new black mark, a hand around his upper bicep. I gave him a warm smile and lifted my bangs.
"Lookit you, joining the marked club," I remarked, punching his shoulder lightly. He beamed at me and kept rubbing his arm all the way to his school.

"Ew, look at little Lincoln, wearing her dads sweater," Rebecca sneered to her friends. Her white teeth blinding against her one fingered black mark running over her top lip to her bottom one in a 'shhh' motion. I giggled at the irony, slipping my hair behind my ear and putting my locker combo in. I yanked the noisy door open and grabbed my calc book.
"Yo Link!" I heard my best friend, Mike shout. I turn my head just in time to see his curly blonde hair bounce through the crowd. I pulled my sleeves down over my hands and giggled at him. He caught up quickly, as he stood about a foot above everyone, and patted my head. "Hey Linky. Going to calc?" He asked sarcasticly, shaking his own calculus book in an unenthused manner. I nodded. He grabbed my hand, my fingers just an inch short of matching his black mark, and we walked to class.
Rebecca walked up behind us and yanked my hair, causing me to stumble. My mark exposed to the whole school.
"Oh my god, look at her mark. What. Are you gunna get kidnapped? No one would miss you" She laughed. I readjusted my hair, seeing bright, burning red.
Through gritted teeth, I walked up to her, got really close to her face and yelled, "What, is your soulmate finally going to get you to shut the fuck up?" Her eyes widened, and my hands flew up to cover my mouth. "I... Im so sorry. I didn't mean to say that!" I yelled, tears streaming down my face.
I ran to class, sliding my hood on and wiping my tears off my face. I heard someone clear their voice, and looking up, I made eye contact with the most beautiful grey eyes I have ever seen.
"Could I sit next to you darling? Im new here" He whispered. I felt goosebumps erupt all over my skin as I motioned to the seat to my right. He let out a quiet chuckle as he slid into the chair/desk combo thing. He placed his bag on the floor and pulled out his book and looked over at me, his dark curls almost touching his eyes.
"Well beautiful, you could hand me your phone so I could take a selfie. It'd last a bit longer," I blushed and cleared my throat, throwing my focus on the board at the front of the room. I heard a paper tear and felt something slide under my elbow. I decide to ignore it, but soon I get too curious. I glance down, and grab the small note. In really nice handwriting (for a boy) it says 'no, but hand me your phone - Henry x'
I can feel my cheeks heat all the way up as my phone replaces the note on my desk and i slide it to the edge, where he can reach it. Soon later, i hear my phone buzz, but before i can read it, the teacher walks in.
