chapter 13

the coach assigns teams to go against each other for a scrimmage to 25 , im on a team with bella, riley, and three seniors. the other team serves first and im in my position as coach rolls the ball towards the other team and then he blows the whistle and the game starts , they spike the ball over and the play goes for a long time until the other teams hitter spikes the ball out. i hear the boys cheer except when i look at the bleacher mattia is to busy looking at bella , but i didnt really care. the game finished 27-25 , our team won so the other team had to do suicides across the gym , after that tryouts were over so we headed into the locker room to change , i changed back to my normal outfit and went up to bella and riley
"we had good team work out there ladies" i say to the both of them
"it was mostly you with your amazing spiking skills" bella says dancing with her shoulders me and riley laugh at her actions
"hey by the way my friend thinks your cute and during practice he couldn't keep his eyes off you" i say winking at bella , riley looks at me and then at bella , she starts laughing and so does bella
"did you seriously fall for that trick?" riley ask , i look at her confused
"what are you talking about?"
"i was behind you , meaning he was staring at you and everytime you looked at him he would look at me to make it look as if he was looking at me the entire time" bella explains
"your fucking delusional" i say with a laugh
"sure whatever you say maya , but he was most likely looking at you"
"yep it's the oldest trick in new jersey , all the boys pull it on there crush"
"well i'm new to jersey so i wouldn't know" i say with a laugh as i grabbing my bag
"well i have to go i'll see you girls later" bella says as she gives us both hugs and leaves the locker room
"so do you actually think he was looking at bella" riley ask after bella leaves
"yeah i mean have you seen her she's really pretty" i say pulling out my phone
"girl so are you" riley says with a smile towards me
"maya!!" i hear alejandro scream from outside of the locker room
"are those your friends?" riley ask laughing
"yes" i say rolling my eyes playfully , i walk out the locker room laughing with riley , and ale engulfs me into a hug almost making me fall back but i catch my balance
"you killed it out there" he says while his arms are around my waist
"thank you bestie" i say with a smile
"to be honest i prefer you in nike shorts baby mama" robert says
"damn you got the whole squad laughing" i joke and everyone starts laughing at my joke
"everyone , this is riley" i say pulling towards me
"hi guys"
everyone starts to greet her and soon enough they are all comfortable with one another
"where's mattia?" i ask after 5 minutes
"oh he left to start the car , we're out to alejandro's house since his parents are gone for the week , y'all down?" roshuan ask
"riley?" i ask facing her
"i'm down" she answers with a shrug
"let's go" i say as i hop on ale's back and start going through insta on my phone , we all start walking to the parking lot (except for me since i'm on ale's back) and when we walk out of the exit everyone faces to there right , i look up from my phone confused as to why ale isn't walking anymore
"what are y'all looking at- oh" i turn as well to see mattia making out with bella as soon as they both hear me they turn around and bella looks uncomfortable
"oh um hey riley and maya" she says pushing off mattia , he just shrugs and walks away to the car with the keys in his hands
"hey bella , thought you had to go" riley says with a little attitude
"i did and then i started talking to mattia - but uh , i do have to go home so i'll see y'all tomorrow" bella says walking away fastly, i just shrug and go back to my phone as we all head to the car
