The Villian In Us

There's a piece of villain in everyone's soul,
The need to make others obey our commands.
Wanting to succeed at any cost,
Not carrying about our loved ones demands.
Then hero glides in, our empathy, love,
It attempts to teach us things that we otherwise would not.
As cute as a baby is, delicate, fragile in our hands,
They are the evilest of all, caring for only what they need.
Toddlers tantrums, fighting and bites,
Acts of anger when things don't go right.
We're all born monsters, capable of destructive, disturbing things.
It's our parents that show us our wrongs,
Pushing whatever beliefs and values that were once used on them.
The empathy and love to snuff out our villain.
