Answers I Have Not

Into the woods I ventured,
Through the deserts, I walked,
But nothing, nothing held the answers I sought.

I changed my name,
My hair, my face,
But nothing, nothing held the answers I sought.

Spoke from elders to young,
High society to low,
But nothing, nothing held the answers I sought.

"This will fix you."
"This will save you."
But nothing, nothing held the answers I sought.

Silence screams of loneliness,
Noise, chaos and wretchedness,
But nothing, nothing held the answers I sought.

The face in the mirror,
Is someone who isn't me,
They're tired, their worn,
Done with society.

The joy of the journey is long-since passed,
Replaced by wrinkles, dark circles, crass.
How much longer must I seek,
The answers I'll never have?
The reason I should keep living,
Is just out of grasp.
