~ Christmas Day ~

Start from the beginning

Jimin shows up right on time.

He is dressed in a long winter coat and thick pants. A beanie rests over his locks of hair and gloves cover his hands.

They greet each other with a brief, shy hug and "merry Christmas".

"What now?" Jimin's bouncing up and down on the balls of his feet, hands locked together in front of him.

"Come with me, I have an idea."

"What is it?"

Yoongi merely smiles. It's payback time. Jimin hadn't informed him of the hair dying appointment. It's only fair to keep him in the dark for once.

"Hyung...?"

He just grabs Jimin by the hand and hails a taxi.

Yoongi stays quiet for majority of the ride, savouring the look of utter frustration portrayed by Jimin as he tries, and fails, to get answers about where they are headed. If there is one thing Yoongi is good at, it is keeping secrets.

"It's a surprise. You'll see," he patiently tells him.

Jimin huffs in response.

The taxi pulls up out the front of a large building about half an hour later. A sign advertising two figure skaters posed gracefully intertwined with each other is plastered on one of the large, pristine windows. A group of young children and mothers enter the building.

Jimin turns to Yoongi, a splendid mix of confusion and curiosity. "Ice skating?"

"Bingo."

His eyes light up at the response. He starts jumping up and down on the spot. "Oh my god, I've always wanted to try it. Can we go in?"

"Well I wasn't planning on standing out here all day," Yoongi deadpans, though he is trying hard to fight back a grin. Stop being such an adorable little cinnamon scroll for one moment.

Once inside, they are greeted by a lady dressed in a crimson felt dress, the hem lined by balls of white clouds. He notices all the workers are wearing a similar outfit.

"Admission for two please."

"Come right this way."

The lady takes them along a short hallway before entering an open arena. They are hit with a wave of cold air. There are a number of families and friends skating about the arena. Some holding hands and laughing as they try to find their balance, whilst others seem more adaptable to the change in surface, floating along easily and nailing spins and twists. Christmas carols merrily ring out in the background. They manage to find a relatively empty place in one of the far corners.

Turns out, Jimin is a natural born skater. He glides with ease along the ice, grinning from ear to ear and giggling in wonder. He attempts a simple spin successfully, glowing with pride.

Yoongi, on their other hand, is not quite as co-ordinated as his date. It is like Bambi trying to walk for the first time. His unsteady knees threaten to buckle. The ice remains solid and sturdy much to his relief, however, it only slightly eases the torment in his mind.

Jimin makes it look easy, effortless.

Jimin slides over and holds out a hand to Yoongi, who is still struggling with his footing. He can't seem to get the movement right. He grits his teeth but accepts the hand, linking them together securely.

He is guided along the ice by Jimin's sure movements and eventually, Yoongi finds himself able to join in the laughing. He is beginning to really enjoy himself. Though he has a feeling it is mostly due to the company.
