"Darlin', wait you can't just leave me here either, Rick!" Cas whined, sitting up slightly from the passenger seat. "I can be useful!"

"Sorry, baby, you and the ship gotta keep Summer safe," Rick said from outside the ship. Cas gave a slightly angry at him. "Ship! Keep Summer and Cassie safe!" The ship repeated what Rick said before the two of them disappeared. Cas huffed loudly, leaning back against her seat and crossing her arms.

"At least I can put my feet on the dash now," She shrugged, stretching her legs out with her feet on the dash. "Ugh, wonderful," Summer grumbled and put her feet up on the dash as well, pulling her phone out. Cas had begun digging through the glove compartment between them, hoping to find some sort of snack. She often left something in the compartment despite Rick's protests. It took a while to find a snack they'd both be able to enjoy and Cas grinned as she pulled out the wafer cookies the two seemed to both be addicted to.

"Hey, excuse me," Summer looked up as a stranger approached the ship. Cas rose a brow but didn't say anything and turned back to the wafers. "Hello," The stranger said once again and Summer turned in her seat to face Cas. "What? You think you're better than me?! Nobody's better than me!" The man began to shout and bang on the window of the ship. Summer looked to Cas as if urging her to help but Cas simply pointed up as a device began to emerge from the back of the ship. It seemingly scanned the man but both the girls jaw dropped as the man fell into small squares on the ground.

"Holy fuck!" Cas exclaimed, "Now I get why Rick didn't tell me it did that!"

"Keep Summer and Cas safe," The ship echoed as another man approached them.

"Hey, man! What the hell?! That was my daughters pediatrician!" The second man shouted before he was lifted up by the ship. Summer immediately stood, "No, stop! Don't kill him!" She shouted and the ship instead shot a laser into the man's spine, paralyzing him and leaving him to crawl away.

"Summer and Cas are safe," The ship said.

"I don't feel safe," Summer cried, allowing a few tears to fall. Cas reached up, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder and giving a slight frown as Summer cried. "Confirmed," The ship replied and leaned back Summer's chair, playing a playlist of music that Cas had given to Rick. It only caused Summer to sob more as the man from before crawled back over and began banging on the ship.

"I'm going to smack your grandfather when he gets back," Cas mumbled.

Cas began to hear sirens in the distance as she handed Summer a wafer cookie in hopes to comfort her. "I'm sorry I'm not better at the whole 'comforting' thing," Cas frowned. "I'm good with comforting people my own age but when it comes to kids and teenagers it's just like all that knowledge is just... gone." Summer looked up as Cas and her eyes were filled with pity.

"It's okay, you being here is enough," Summer's voice was quiet and shaky from crying.

"I've never really been around kids and my uncle didn't exactly do the best job raising me. His idea of comforting me was just as bad as my own attempts," Cas chuckled. "He did his best given the circumstances, though."

"You never really talk about him. Or your father," Summer pointed out.

"Yeah... I don't blame my Uncle for anything. He got stuck with me after what happened to my father. He didn't ask to raise me and he didn't have too. He could have just left me on some other doorstep like my mom did." Cas shrugged, "But he didn't. Him and my dad were always close until high school but they had a pretty rocky childhood when it came to their parents. I guess it's just a Pines family thing," Cas snorted at her attempts at a joke. It earned a small laugh from Summer as well.
