Own Up To Your Problems

The house in front of us was quite amazing- it was nothing I'd expect for a house filled with vampires. Rather than a dark and rickety wooden house, this mansion was completely modernized with glass walls surrounding the entire perimeter.

While being amazed and wishing to divulge deeper, my gripped tightened on my seatbelt.

"I don't know about this? Are you sure?" I questioned wearily as I sat in the backseat of Sam's truck. Him and Paul were sitting up front and both were eyeing the house with caution.

"Yeah, I mean you're leg healed too quickly to go to a regular doctor," Paul grumbled while now glaring at the house.

"Probably all those dormant wolf genes," Sam joked, "the one good thing is that Carlisle is a doctor."

"I mean we could always go to a new doctor and lie about when I actually got hurt," I countered, feeling uneasy that all those vampires were lying in wait.

Sam sighed, "That's still a pretty big risk. Let's just get this over with, after all they're doing us a favor."

Paul was stuck by my side as Sam knocked roughly on the door. Not a moment later, a pale blonde vampire opened the door.

"Carlisle," Sam greeted while the two exchanged pleasantries.

"You must be Luna," Carlisle extended his hand, "It's so nice to meet you. I've heard a lot about you from Bella and Edward."

I gave him a smile back as I shook his hand. Quite frankly, I was surprised that I didn't feel uneasy around him as I did Edward.

Speaking of the devil.

Edward and Bella came down the stairs right after, both giving us friendly smiles.

"To make things easier and normal, I've asked my family-apart from Edward and Bella- to keep their distance from the house right now. We're the only ones here."

"Thank you," I sincerely told him, appreciating his actions. We were stepping into their home, yet he was okay with having his family leave just to make us comfortable. It was probably also not the best time for me to meet even more vampires.

"Shall we?" Carlisle stepped aside and motioned to the stairs. With silent nods of agreement, we followed after him; Sam, Bella and Edward while Paul and I remained at the end. Even though we believed my leg to be healed, it was still difficult to walk up the stairs with the cast, therefore, I found myself leaning on Paul most of the way up.

After three flights of stairs and turning through two hallways, we arrived in a makeshift hospital room, including practically everything a doctor's office would have.

"Paul, you can set Luna here," Carlisle spoke, standing besides an exam table. After gently setting me down, Paul told me he was going into the hall to talk with Sam and Edward. I reassured him that was fine as Bella was still in the room with me and surprisingly, I felt comfortable around Carlisle.

Carlisle took a few x-rays and confirmed Paul's suspicion that my leg had already healed despite it barely being 3 weeks since the injury.

"Thank god for wolf blood, huh," I joked lightly while looking over the x-rays with Bella.

"Excited to get the cast off?" Carlisle spoke, coming over with a miniature circular saw.

I shrugged, "Honestly I feel like I barely had it."

"How long would she have had it without the wolf genes?" Bella questioned.

"Probably about another month or so," Carlisle answered while adjusting my leg to begin cutting.
