It's You

It's You

Your words hold me down.

It's so simple when I say it in my head, yet... it's not.

It's the exact opposite, actually.

It's you.

You're hard enough to get my head around as it is, but when you speak? My mind becomes a kaleidoscope of summer kisses and dandelions and unicorns.

Okay, well, the unicorns are all in my head, but the rest?

It's real.

It's actually real.

What I would give to be able to link my pinky affectionately with yours and showcase it to the world.

—And strangely enough, I didn't even have to give all that much.

It's you.

And here you are, tucking a piece of hair behind my ear, cupping my face in your hands.

But that's nothing compared to your lips.

They're moving—not against mine, but on their own.

They're saying what I never expected to hear; what I never thought was true.

It hits me right where I'd gone cold.

I don't believe in love, truthfully.

But I do believe in you.
