Chapter 13

"What are you doing here?" Dani asked cautiously as Jimmy sat at Ricky's makeup table.

"To warn you. To protect you all. Rob is planning something to sabotage you and your friends." Jimmy whispered the last part. I furrowed my brows.

"Sabotage? But he's already ruined our circus by taking our audience away. What else could he possibly want?"

Jimmy bit his bottom lip as he looked up to me with serious eyes.

"Rob and Sheri have powers beyond out mortal imaginations. And with the help of Kaz and Hyde they will soon be able to take over all of humanity."

"Wha? But why are you telling us all of this? You're part of their circus." Dani folded her arms across her chest.

Jimmy let out a sigh nodding before continuing.

"For the longest time I've hated humanity. I've been outcasted from my own family and friends. So Rob and Sheri took me in and accepted me for how I was. That's the only reason I agreed to help them. But..that was before I actually met you...Ash."

My face and ears felt warm as he said this. I felt a small smile creep across my face as I gazed at the man before me and my heart fluttered a bit.

"You don't know us though." Dani blurted out. Jimmy shrugged.

"You're right. But after meeting you all, it made me realize maybe not all of society is bad. You all treat each other like...like a big family. Something most of us have never had."

I smiled and nodded at Jimmy as I placed a hand on Dani's lap. She looked over at me raising a brow but quickly calmed down.

"We can help any way we can. But only if you're really serious about it."

"I'm very serious.. You ladies have my word." Jimmy stood up holding his hand out. Dani and I looked at each other before reaching out to both shake his large hand. I couldn't help but admire Jimmy's face. He was pretty handsome. His body art was beautiful and even his personality seemed sweet. The tall tatted man smiled down at me, and I felt his eyes stare deeply into mine and for a moment I got lost in them.

"Alright love birds let's get going." Dani squeezed between us and I couldn't help but giggle. I put the album back into Chris's nightstand before the three of us exited the trailer. We decided to go to Balz since he was in charge of camp and on our way there I felt a strong hand brush against my hand. I blushed as I took a glimpse at Jimmy who kept brushing his hand against mine. Soon enough we had our fingers laced together.

It's been years since I've had a relationship I had almost forgotten how nice it felt to hold another man's hand.

We were just approaching the pit area when I caught a glimpse of something in the back near the woods. I narrowed my eyes and let out a small gasp as I saw who it was.

Jinxx and Dahvie dragging along an unconscious Angelo and Devin.

Devin!

I stopped pointing my finger towards them causing Jimmy and Dani to look that way as well. Jimmy held his finger to his lips at us until the others disappeared.

"Jinxx and Dahvie are too powerful together. Even I can't stop them. Let's get Balz first, he should be able to help." Jimmy whispered.

Dani and I both nodded as we continued our way towards Balz tent. I kept looking back to where I saw Devin and Angelo being dragged and blinked away loose tears.

We got to the tent and I peeked in to see Balz sitting with Ryan Ashley at the table where they told fortunes. The couple looked up at us with serious looks. Balz stood up walking over to us.

"Girls, what's he doing here?" Balz narrowed his eyes up at Jimmy.

"It's okay, he's on our side. He told us Rob has this plan to take over all of humanity. He's here to help us. Devin and Angelo have been kidnapped!' I cried out the last part. Balz placed a hand on my shoulder not taking his eyes off of Jimmy. I could see Balz's eyes glowing a slight purple as he examined the tatted man.

"He's telling the truth.." he turned to Ryan Ashley. The fortune teller gestured for us to have a seat at the round table.

"We've been keeping an eye on Chris and the others. It seems they've partnered up to find Jimmy and Angelo." Ry traced her fingers against some cards laying in front of her. Balz placed his fingers on the glowing purple crystal ball, staring deeply into it. He closed his eyes as we all sat quietly.

"What...is..." Balz scrunched up his brows as his eyes closed tighter. His grip on the ball tightened and I could see Ryan Ashley look concerned.

"Balz.." His fiance placed a hand on her chest.

All of a sudden Balz's eyes shot wide open and they were completely red with a purple hue. He let out a loud gasp as he fell back in his seat with what looked like a powerful force. We all stood from our seats as Ry kneeled down to check on her fiance.

"Josh!? Josh? Baby please wake up!" She cried out. Balz shut his eyes tightly, violently shaking his head before opening them back up. His eyes were back to normal.

"Something is... Something is taking over my mind. It's like...a song in the back of my head....it..is like...a monster inside of me." Balz growled the last part. He quickly stood up stepping away from us as he screamed, holding onto his head.

"Joshua!" Ry cried out.

"This is what Rob was talking about. The song he's talking about is the song by Hyde and Kaz that they use to manipulate the mind. It's slowly taking over." Jimmy stood in front of the three of us. I gasped as we all watched Balz fall to his knees covering his face.

"Ryan my love, girls, please get out! I can't hold it back any longer. Get the others out now!" Balz cried out looking up at us, his eyes flashing red every second. "Jimmy, please protect them!"

Balz growled as sharp teeth tore through his gums, and long claws grew from his fingers. His left eye was glowing red as he glared up at us and lunged towards us. The girls screamed out but Jimmy was quick and delivered a swift punch to the side of Balz's head knocking him back. Balz laid unconscious on his back, his body twitching slightly.

"Let's get out now before he gets up." Jimmy ushered us out of the tent, Ryan Ashley looking back at Balz with tears in her eyes.

I felt my heart drop at the sight. I've never felt more scared in my life.

Chris..Ricky....

We ran out of the tent and split up to warn everybody. Luckily the others were fine and not infected yet. Dani and I got changed into more comfortable clothes before we headed out with the others.

Jimmy had a van sitting just outside of our camp that could fit all of us in.

"Where are we gonna go?" Bill asked as he and Tom sat in the back with the others. I sat up front with Jimmy as he drove off.

"Its too dangerous to stay at your camp. The only thing we can do is stop Rob and Sheri. But I need you all to be brave. Can you do that?" Jimmy looked back at everyone through the rearview mirror. I smiled over at him before looking back at my family. I nodded towards them. They looked scared, but they all smiled and eventually agreed.

"Good. And I've got an idea. For this, we're going to need all of the help we can get."

I took my phone from my bag sending a text to Ricky.

"something is going down. Please tell me you and the others are safe. We're heading towards Rob's tent."

I waited a few minutes before I got a text back.

Rick bear: "I knew it...Chris and Remington are acting strange. We are heading back but I'll make them turn back to Rob's tent. I'll do what I can."

I closed my eyes biting my lip as I held my phone against my chest.

Ricky...Chris. Please be safe...
