What make Major Nair's every nerve ending to rise are the two reasons : first is the fact that no one could be seen there in front of them who could possibly have asked the question. And second - the voice of the person he knows well - Dr. Shalini!

Major Nair looks around as it becomes impossible for him to accept the fact that Dr. Shalini could be heard without her being present there in person.

In a state of horror Major Nair turns to look towards Brigadier Chandok but goes numb out of shock.

Brigadier Chandok without turning to look towards Major Nair, in a serious tone tells him,

"I know. Maine bhi suna!"

Major Nair, bringing out his handkerchief rubs off his sweat.

"Dr. Shalini hi to mujhe yahan haath pakad kar le ayi.",

says Brigadier Chandok, seriously, but staring in front of him throughout as if there is someone in particular he is staring towards.

When does Major Nair start chanting Hanuman chalisa, he knows not.

All he could see is the whole scenario encircling him to be running at a pace of a vampire that they show in movies or serials. Kinetic speed at it's zenith point.

If this goes on for long then he doesn't know whether there is the presence of Dr. Shalini in front of him or not but he would definitely need Dr. Shalini's help if not Brigadier Chandok.

"Sir... Sir please aap chaliye yahan se. Please.",

requests Major Nair, too terrified to elaborate to convince Brigadier Chandok further.

"Par Major hum Dr. Shalini ko yahan akela chor kar kaise ja sakte hain?",

asks Brigadier Chandok, turning to look towards Major Nair, knitting his brows as if he is finding him being ridiculous.

"Arey kahan hain....",

puzzled, terrified Major Nair, raises his voice on Brigadier Chandok unintentionally.

But soon he realizes he has crossed limits and hence trying to calm himself down as much as was possible for him in the given circumstances of horror, he says,

"Ka...han... Kahan hai yahan koi Sir? Koi bhi nahi hai.",

Major Nair fakes his smile.

"Major how can you be so insensitive to ignore the presence of your fellow faculty member altogether?",

Brigadier Chandok shows his disappointment in Major Nair, knitting his brows.

Major Nair realizes that he needs to deal with the situation calmly and doesn't have to get hyper about anything. Hence fighting with his accelerating rate of heartbeat he tries to calm himself down. At least he shows to be getting calmed down in front of Brigadier Chandok and says,

"Okay! Okay! Theek hai hum... hum Doc... Dr. Shalini se puch lete hain ke wo humare saath jana chahti hain ke nahi. Okay?"

Saying so Major Nair turns to look at his front finding no one there except for the eerie silence that is prevailing there. But for Brigadier Chandok's sake he had to do this, hence plastering a smile on his face, calming himself down he to no one; to the eerie silence he talks,

"Oh, there she is!"

He adds further, keeping his act on,

"Kya aap humare saath chalengi Dr. Shalini?"

He quickly adds,

"Nahi?",

knitting his brows as if disappointed on getting a negative reply from Dr. Shalini.
