The harsh rays of sunlight eliminate the cave El slept in she stirred in her sleep and woke up at the sound of rustling, sitting straight up she noticed Ryn had made a fire and was cooking what seemed to be a rabbit.
" Good morning, " Ryn said, a smile on her face once she notice that El was up
" Morning, " El said, as she walked over to her new found friend or sister,
Ryn pulled out a cooked rabbit from the fire and handed it to her, "Eat, you must be hungry," she said,
El took it and began to eat it, Ryn joined her and they relished in the comfortable silence. Once El had finished her portion of rabbit Ryn knew she was still hungry so she gave her more
"Thank you," she said, Ryn nodded and stood up and walked to the entrance of the cave, " Where are you going, "
" I'll be gone for a bit, stay here where it's safe, " Ryn said, as she shifted into her wolf form and left the cave.
Ryn Pov
I began my portal around the woods, checking for any signs of danger. As I walked I saw a stag looking at me carefully, as if waiting for my next move. I walked away from it and soon came near the clearing I found El at. Speaking of El, she just so happens to be right next to me which made me chuckle
"You do realize I heard you following me ever step of the way," I asked," Why did you follow me? "
She looked down and held onto my tufts of fur "Didn't want to be alone,"
I looked down at her and let out a sigh" I know the feeling" She seemed confused when I bend down and laid on the ground,
" Get on, "
She hesitated but slowly but surely got on my back, she let out a squeak when I stood up and took off in a run, I could feel her hands grab onto my fur, I jumped over some rocks and came to a small walk as we stood on top of a cliff
" You can look up now, " I said,
El opened her eyes and she let out a smile once she saw the view, the sun brightening the forest below. The singing of the birds made it so magical, just by their singing you can tell spring was near.
" Beautiful isn't it," I asked, she nodded and I bend down and rubbed my head with her's, " Each little thing you see is special in its own way, from the birds that fly high to the tiniest worm that slithers in the ground below, we too have a purpose in this world you just need to find yours,"
" Do you know yours," she asked,
" For now my purpose is to protect you," I said,
We then began our way back to the den, El seemed to enjoy the sight of the snow falling from the trees. We came across a lake that was frozen and she pointed out the fish that swam underneath the frozen water.
Once we made it to the den, a familiar scent caught my attention,
" El stay behind me," I said. She got off and walked behind me, I let out a low growl and began to take careful steps so they wouldn't notice us. Once near the den, I attacked the intruder and they let out a whine as I pinned them down.
"It's me Ryn," a familiar voice said, I looked down to see Anita the other female of the pack
" What are you doing here," I asked. She began to wag his tail happy that she had found me safe, but she backed away once he saw El.
"Anita meet El, El meet Anita my pack mate ," I said
" Is she like us?" she asked,
" Yes but she doesn't trust humans that well," I said.
The rest of the pack had horrible experience with humans, sure we never talked about it but Alpha was the first to escape that horrible place, then he found me alone after I escaped, then Beta and lastly Anita and Kenai.
Slowly but surely we became a family protecting each other from anything that could harm us, so Alpha letting me find this human confused me a bit.
"Alpha wanted to make sure you were alright," she said, I huffed
" Was it Alpha or Beta ?" I asked, her ears went back and I sigh
" I'm alright, just let them know that I have found my purpose," I said, she seemed to understand and smiled as we booped noses " Go on now, they must be waiting for you," I said, she huffed and left. As she left I walked into the den and sat down.
" Won't they be angry that you left," El asked, I chuckled and wrapped my tail around her body to keep her warm
" The only one who might miss me would be Kenai since I am the best hunter of the pack," I said,
" Do they all have names," she said,
" Wel there is Alpha is our leader, Beta is our tracker, Kenai is our nose-"I explained,
"Nose" El asked,
" He has a strong sense of smell he could smell a dead carcass a whole 3 miles away, then we have Anita she's able to take down a whole Elk with a single attack." I said
I took notice of El's eyes getting heavy as I told her more about my pack and once I had finished my story she was already asleep.
