The Best (Zoro X Reader)

Chapter VI

You couldn't believe he was training right now, none of you could. It started with a small breeze on the morning and Mr. Ito saying "I think is going to rain", he was always right. Maybe Zoro didn't wanted to listen or he forgot or he was just stupid but he began his large routine and it started raining almost immediately, still, he didn't move, he kept training under the cold rain while the others just watched him from a window of the community house.

-I remember when I used to be that strong- Mr. Ito said- I could do pushups like nothing and my body looked so good- Mr. Ito said sad biting on a donut, more specifically his 4rth one so far

-He is going to get sick- you said, after 3 more minutes of watching him keep going and not stopping you walked away from the window

Zoro was giving his best to keep going, this would make him stronger for sure. If he couldn't stand some rain then the match against Mikhaw was not use. He felt every water drop falling on his body as he kept doing pushups like nothing even thought everything hurt and he was sure he might get sick, until the rain stopped, at least on him. He stopped for a second and turned his head to his left to see you standing there with a big umbrella covering you both

-Keep going, don't mind me- you said looking away as he kept going. Zoro's equipment was wet and kind of muddy, you couldn't help but to wonder if he was going to use it in that state. You kneeled a little still covering Zoro and you, you took grabbed some of the weights and pulled them closer to you so they would be away from the rain, it was really difficult to move them to the point you almost slipped but you managed to balance yourself.

As soon as you got the weights cover from the water you began cleaning them with a small piece of cloth that you had on you. Zoro saw you from the corner of his eye cleaning his weights and getting some mud off his equipment bag, all while holding the umbrella trying to cover both of you from the rain.

-You can leave them like that -he said doing another push up, but you kept cleaning them until they were dry enough

-Slippery weights cause accidents- you smiled satisfied after finishing cleaning them and then stud up again. Zoro kept doing his work out for a while but you wouldn't move, you stud there keeping him from getting wet, that made Zoro wonder for how long would you stand there while he kept going

You stud there until it stopped raining, Zoro wasn't done with his workout at all, you knew that he took over 3 hours to finish his first workout and you didn't mind waiting for him to finish because you had not responsibilities to cover that day, as soon as it stopped raining you closed your umbrella and shook it to take the water away from it

-Thank you, Y/N, you shouldn't have- he sat on the wet ground and cleaned the sweat of his neck

-It's not a problem Roronoa- you began walking away from the area, but you stopped and looked back- Roronoa... - he turned to see you, you exchanged looks with him for a second- keep it up- you winked continuing walking away

Zoro was left there looking at you as you walked away. You had cleaned so good some of his weights that you had took some old rusty stains of them, Zoro took the heaviest ones and continue working out now with clean and dry weights. He continued his workout as usual, feeling more motivated somehow, he even pushed himself harder than before getting to finish his workout a little bit later than usual and doing even more repetitions

-Are you trying to impress me boy? - Mr. Ito said scaring Zoro who didn't hear him approaching at all- do you think you can help me move something from the store room? I wanted to get my special box out of there but my knees refuse to cooperate- Mr. Ito smacked his own knees

-Let me put my bag back in my room- Zoro said picking everything up and placing everything in the bag, he studs up and grabbed the string path you had made to get to his room. It took you 2 days to finish it but you had out done yourself making the path connect almost everywhere in the temple, Zoro wanted to help but you refused insisting it was his welcome gift- where is the store room?

-Follow me kiddo- Mr. Ito said walking to a small storage house almost outside the temple, just by opening Zoro could see it was a messy place. Boxes scattered everywhere with statues of deities that where either broken or too old to use- my special box must be in one of the corners, it's that one- Mr. Ito pointed at an old wood box behind a really big one. Zoro walked to the box and moved it easily to get the other one Mr. Ito needed, he picked the box up

-Where do you want it? - Zoro asked but when he turned to Mr. Ito, he was lost in one corner staring at something. He followed him still with the box in his arms

-Isn't she pretty? - Mr. Ito asked, he was looking at a painting of a woman, there was something so familiar about the woman- she looks just like her, doesn't her?

-Is this Y/N's mother? - Zoro asked now noticing how similar they were, even the smile was as warm as hers

-My special box!!-Mr. Ito said avoiding the subject, he lifts the top of the box and pulled a bottle of sake, he kissed the bottle happy- I miss you my baby!!

-Mr. Ito leave that right away!!- you said, you peeked inside the open door and saw Mr. Ito holding the bottle- you are not supposed to be drinking!

-Leave me and my baby alone young lady! - then Zoro realized, Mr. Ito was already drunk and was almost running from his life with the bottle on his arms

-Come back here!!- you said running behind him trying to catch him and his bottle- help me out a little Roronoa!- Zoro reacted right away and tried to catch Mr. Ito who was drinking the bottle as they chased him, he was faster than both of them together to a point were Zoro was confused, he had never seen an old man run this fast and he had never seen Mr. Ito walk faster than a turtle before

Being too distracted in his thought cause Zoro to crash with you while Mr. Ito sneaked out, you and Zoro fell in the floor luckily Zoro had made your way down to the floor easy by acting like a pillow. You landed right on his chest, you could even hear his heart beat, that scene was so compromising yet you were lost in the moment.

-This couple of little turtles- said Mr. Ito opening his special box again to retrieve another bottle, leaving you and Zoro to stand up immediately after realizing your situation

-I'm so sorry it wasn't my intention! - Zoro apologized

-It's my fault I didn't looked where I was going- you tried to excuse yourself but you saw Mr. Ito grabbing the other bottle- Mr. Ito leave that right now!!- you yelled running behind him as he exited the place

Zoro took the box with the other bottles and placed it behind two heavy boxes so Mr. Ito wouldn't touch them again. But something was off, he felt his chest warm, he placed his hand in his chest just where you were and felt something weird, was he sick?
