"... I'm already giving you everything I have. What more is there?!"
"Am I just another one of your finished tech problems? You just figure me out and then move on? I don't even think I exist to you sometimes. Am I just not good enough for you?"
"... How could you say that?I never know what you're thinking. I'm just tired of this. You have never even said that you love me. Do you realize that?"
"They're three words. Three simple little words. Do I need to say them every day for you to understand that I love you? No, you know what – I'm tired, too. I think we need to stop this. Let's just stop this. Let's just stop, okay?"
"Let's just.. stop?"
Last night was an eruption of emotions that was suppressed for far too long to not leave a strong lingering aftertaste. It was last night when all of your insecurities came flowing out of your system and his inability when it came to expressing emotion became all too clear. Of all those perfectly fine years together, your boyfriend had never gotten so upset at you, nor you at him until the last week. You couldn't digest what had happened, but you knew something ended last night because he hadn't contacted you since this exchange. What were you to make of this?
Let's just stop.
Those were the words playing over and over in your mind like static on a dead screen. You want there to be more to it, so you sit and wait, but that's all there is. Black, white, and only the grey in between. Something was trying to be communicated but no images could be projected. What were you both truly trying to say to each other?
YH: "...today, miss?"
You snapped out of your thoughts at the familiar voice of the young waiter standing at your table.
When did he come?
You hardly even realized you had wandered into this cafe.
"Sorry?" you asked, shaking your head out of your daze.
Although the cafe was bustling with guests, he seemed very patient with you regardless. With a warm smile, he simply repeated, "The usual today, miss?"
"Oh. Yes, please," you answered without much thought.
You smiled back weakly as he thanked you and walked away briskly.
You sat up a bit and scanned the shop. This cafe. Somehow your body just knew where to go and had led you here even when your mind could hardly function. Though you suppose it's not so surprising since visiting this place every late afternoon with him had become a part of your daily routine.
