Part One: New World

Coral

"Coral sweetie wake up." I heard my mother say to wake me up for school. I opened my eyes and looked at my door. I saw my mother standing in the doorway. "Morning sweetie. It's time to get up for school. Breakfast is downstairs when you are ready." My mother said and went downstairs.

I sat up and looked out the window seeing the sun shining threw. I got up and started to brush my long black hair. My hair was almost to my knees I knew soon I needed to cut it. I quickly put my hair up in a messy bun and got dress. I put on a some black shorts and a blue long sleeved shirt. After I got dressed I went to the bathroom and brushed my teeth. Then I went downstairs.

When I got downstairs I saw my mother in the kitchen putting a plate of bacon and toast on the table. "Thanks Mom." I said has a sat in one of the chairs. "Your welcome sweetie." My mother said has she got her keys. "I'll be home around 6:30pm. Call me if you need anything." My mother said kissing my forehead. "I will love you Mom bye." I said smiling. "Love you too." My mother said has she closed the front door. I saw her pull out of the drive way and drive off.

After my mother left I quickly ate my food. When I was done I put my plate in the sink and put my backpack on my back. I walked out of the house grabbing the house keys and closed the door behind me. 

Has I was walking down the street I saw some of the other kids from my school walking down the same road I was walking on. Some of them had headphones on and some were walking talking to friends. I was walking by myself, because my friend has to ride the bus. My best friend is Lora. Lora lives outside of town that's why she takes the bus. I have been friends with her for 12 years. She's always been there before my father died.

When I got to school I didn't see Lora anywhere. The rest of the day I didn't see Lora anywhere. When I got home I saw my mother car in the drive way.

I opened the door and closed it behind me. I saw my mother sitting at the table. She seemed to be waiting for me. "Hey honey. I know I'm home early it's not normal for me to be home early. But I need to tell you something." My mother said with a worried look on her face. "Sure Mom." I said has I sat in the chair next to her. "What is it Mom?" I said looking at her. My mother took my hands had and looked me in the eyes. "Coral sweetie. Lora died this morning." I soon has my mother said that tears formed in my eyes. "I'm so sorry sweetheart." My mother hugged me and I hugged back.

After hugging my mother for about 10 minutes she let go and put her hand on my cheek. "Honey I'll let you stay from school tomorrow so you can take some time to think." I nodded while my mother wiped some of my tears away. "I have to go shopping I'll be back has soon has can ok?" My mother said. "Ok Mom thank you for the hug." I said with a little smile. "Any time sweetheart." She said has she kissed my cheek and smiled. My mom got up and walked out the door.

After a little more crying I went and took a shower. I didn't want my mom to see me crying again and think I was upset still. Lora was my only friend but I know she in a better place. But my mother never told me how she died. Maybe I can ask her when she gets home. So then I can see you killed my best friend. But I hope there're behind bars. Or.......I'll have some killing to do.
