Chapter 12

I dreaded going to school, but now I had a really good reason to. I searched everywhere for Jackson, but there was no sign of him.
I stepped into the library quietly and quickly searched through the isles of books.
Nothing.
I went to the other side where the isles hit the wall with a benches at the end.
I quickly passed them all scanning for Jackson. After I scanned all of them I found Jackson in a bench with his feet up reading a book.
"Jackson!"
He raised his head and glanced at me. He rolled his eyes.
"Oh. It's you." he sighed and continued,"What do you want?"
I suddenly felt like I could barely speak,"I just need to explain to you that me and Jordan-" Jackson cut me off.
"Are very happy together. I get it. Now if you don't mind I'm gonna be late to class."
He stood up with his back-pack in his left hand and his book in his right. He started walking forward until I stopped him with my hands on his chest.
"Please you have to listen to me!"
"I think I've heard enough." he pushed his way past me. I ran in front of him stopping him once again.
"Stop will you?!"
He just stood there and rolled his eyes out of frustration.
"Alright! I'll listen."
I looked him in the eye and pulled him toward the nearest bench.
"Look-"
"Hey! Jackson what are you doing with my girlfriend?!" We both turned to face Jordan standing at the edge of the isle.
"Will you stop saying that?! I'm NOT your girlfriend!!"
Jackson looked in between us flustered.
"What do you mean baby? Of course I am!"
I stood up and punched him in the arm.
"DO NOT CALL ME THAT!!"
Jackson stood up and put his hands on my shoulder.
I turned to him as he looked angry while staring deeply at Jordan.
I mentally sighed.
Whew. He wasn't mad at me.
Jordan rubbed his arms as his eyes focused on Jackson's hand.
He pushed Jackson causing me to almost fall.
"Don't touch her!" Jordan's face turned bright red.
I only knew this wasn't going to end well.
Jackson pushed him back harder.
"Back off! You don't own her!"
In a flash, Jordan swung his fist toward Jackson knocking him down.
I quickly gasped and ran in between them.
"QUIT!"
Jordan quickly pushed me away and was about to swing another punch, but Jackson stood up and punched him in the nose.
"STOP PLEASE!"
Jackson's face flushed with guilt.
Jordan stood up and punched him once more.
"What's going on here?!"
We all turned to the librarian.
"You, you, and you to the office, now!"

"Can anyone explain why you were fighting?"
We all sat there staring at the principal until Jordan interrupted.
"He was laying his hands on her and I defended her!"
The principal cocked an eyebrow.
"By punching him?"
He crossed his arms over his chest.
"Yes."
"Quit lying you dirty-"
"Mr. Jackson!"he paused,"Is it true that you laid your hands on her?"
"No, I only placed my hands on her shoulder."
"So yes."
I scooted to the edge of my chair.
"Mr.York, I can testify. What happened
was that I was telling Jordan to leave me alone and Jackson put his hand on my shoulder to calm me down. Then Jordan pushed him, Jackson pushed back, Jordan punched him, he punched back, and yeah."
Mr. York nodded his head.
"Well from this information, Jordan ISS. Jackson, lunch detention for 2 weeks.
April, you're good."
He smiled and dismissed us.
As we walked out Jackson smiled at me. I hugged him tightly, Jackson followed my lead.
"I couldn't stay mad at you."
I looked up at him still hugging him, " I know, I'm irrisitable." I teased.
