They Don't Understand...

Lila Angelica Roe, the sweet, shy girl who always sits somewhere near the edge of the classroom whether it be the corner of the desk arrangement or by a wall. Not by her choice, but it's nice to know that there is some form of stability next to her. She's the girl who has a few close friends, trusts people easily, but can't seem to speak her mind. She's the kind of girl who can't even answer a simple math question in front of the class, let alone give a speech in English. Even group projects are nearly impossible to bear.

Lunch with Ella, Lila's best friend. Doesn't sound too bad, but then she remembers one of the things that started all of these other problems. Freaking Tyler, they just had to fall for each other and forget that I even exist-
No, it's not okay to think like that... You should be happy for her because she doesn't have to be all "Oh my gosh, I'm going to be sad and lonely for the rest of my life even though I've had like three boyfriends in the last two years and I think almost every boy has a crush on me because they're nice!" Yeah. No reason at all.

She pulls herself out of her thoughts to look around the room. Where's Zenith...? He's supposed to be here, and he hasn't talked to either Ella or me since last week.. Not good, not good-

Ella turns away from her friends and looks to Lila with a questioning look. "Come on, Lila. I know you're better than this, you don't need to be so quiet all the time!"

"Actually, yes, I do," she mutters in response. No matter how hard she tried, she could never seem to make herself join the conversation. It's just really hard when these people are near-strangers!

Ella just shakes her head and turns back around to continue talking. Nobody seems to notice what has just happened. Wow.
Just like every. Single. Freaking. Day. Since the beginning of Ella's and Tyler's relationship.
She just goes off and completely ignores the fact that her supposed best friend is internally panicking now that their other friend isn't there.

He's probably fine, I'm just over-thinking everything as usual! Lila thinks with false optimism, staring at the desk in front of her. Nobody seems to notice how hard I'm breathing, how so obviously nervous and distressed I am. Just because I'm the quiet girl who can't speak her own thoughts...

Only when tears start forming in the girl's eyes does Ella notice and go over to comfort her.

"What's wrong...? I know, I'm sorry, I've been a terrible friend lately-"
That's what you said last time. And the time before that. And the time before that. But you never try to fix anything. Thanks a lot.

The bell rang, and Lila is the first to get up and leave. Does Ella notice? Nope. Not at all. She's too busy talking to her stupid boyfriend again. Yay...
She doesn't take the time to actually see what's going on. She never does. She asks a few questions, gets distracted, then doesn't come back to it for at least two days.

Why isn't Zenith here..? I was going to go to a separate room again to play the piano. Or watch him play. Either one would be fine. Anything to get away from...that.

Lila sighs and keeps her head hung low, avoiding eye contact from the strangers around her. Maybe she can text Zenith later, after school and homework? Yeah.. That sounds like a good idea...
