Anna's POV

I turned around and collided into something... or someone. I felt my whole world about to turn upside down.

I closed my eyes tightly waiting for the impact but it never came. I felt someone's hands on my arms and I opened my eyes slowly.

My eyes opened my eyes at the handsome stranger that was standing in front of me.

He had dirty blonde hair and sky blue eyes. His face was chiselled with a small beard. He gave me a dimpled smile and I held my breath in awe.

"Are you okay? Sorry I didn't see you there" he said and his voice was deep, it penetrated through my ears causing me to shiver in pleasure.

"By the way, my name is Chris Jones and you are?" I blinked a few times and cleared my throat afraid that my voice might come out in a whisper.

"Anna Greene," I said flashing him a smile.

"Ohh thee Anna Greene. Nice to meet you Anna" he said smiling sweetly at me and showing me his dimples again.

"Anna would you like to go to dinner with me when you are free of course," he said with hope in his eyes.

I licked my lip and he averted his eyes from mine and stared at my lips.

"Of course I would love to," I said smiling at him.

"You look beautiful you know. Bumping into you made my day and those eyes... before I forget here is my business card" he said and I blushed.

"Anna sorry for keeping you" Mike Connelly, my boyfriend of two months, said as he was approaching us.

His eyes went to Chris's hands which were still holding me. I saw the fury in his eyes but he changed and smiled at me.

"Anna, are you going to introduce us to each other?" He said smiling, but it looked forced.

"Uhm, Chris meet Mike and Mike meet Chris," I said smiling at both of them.

"So babe did you order or should I go and order? Oh, where are my manners... Chris, please join us" Mike said to Chris with a tight smile.

"Uhh no I don't want to intrude -" before Chris finished his sentence Mike insisted that he joins us. Saying that we need to get to know each other more.

We found a table and the waitress served us. Mike was sitting in front of me and Chris next to me.

"So Chris what do you do?" Miles asked as he was taking a sip of his coffee.

"I own Jones Construction Company. I am sure you've heard about it" Chris said and Miles raised his eyebrows surprised not expecting the reply.

"So you are the millionaire that doesn't seem to get out of people's lips?" he said disbelievingly.

"Yeah guess that's me. So what about you?" Chris asked and Mike shifted in his seat uncomfortably before taking a deep breath before replying.

"I am an accountant at one of Anna's family business," he said and Chris nodded and looked at me with a little smile.

"So how do you two know each other? Are you friends or something?" Chris asked looking at Mike as if to test the waters.

"No she is my girlfriend," Mike said with pride and a huge grin.

This seemed to change Chris's facial expression as his smile started to disappear.

"That's nice... you are lucky to have a woman like her on your side. I know I would be happy if she were mine" he said looking at me making me blush.

"Take care of her because you don't know who is after her heart" he continued to say with seriousness in his voice.

I looked at Mike slowly and his face was red and his nose flaring, taking huge breaths and his chest heaving up and down.

"So who is your special someone?" Mike asked and I raised my eyebrows and waited for the answer.

"I don't have one at the moment. I am still looking for the right one all those who would have been the perfect ones for me seem to be taken" he said playing with his tea.

I don't know why I felt happy about Chris's not having a woman in his life. I was relieved.

He checked his phone and then back at us.

"I am sorry but I have to cut this short" he said taking my hand and giving it a soft and sweet kiss.

"Mike," he said nodding his head to Mike who was looking at him annoyed. Just as Chris stepped his feet outside the coffee shop Mike spoke.

"Do you like him?" he asked and I couldn't even look at him.

Why would he ask me something like this? Can he tell that I may be developing a little crush on Chris?

My inner voice said.

"I mean I don't hate him" Mike looked at me then back at the empty seat that Chris was occupying not so long ago.

"I'm glad to hear that. I wouldn't want my girlfriend to start developing feelings for another man" he said releasing a deep breath he was holding.

Even though I just met Chris a few hours ago, Chris was everything I wanted Mike to be. I extended my hand and rubbed his hand. He smiled at me sweetly and got back to sipping his coffee.

I stared out of the window thinking of what I was going to wear for my dinner with Chris.

Thinking about Chris made me smile with anticipation for the dinner.
