"HELLO, DEAR," MEREDITH ORLANDO SPOKE intothe phone. "hi meredith," i said, smiling. "so we'd settled that you'd be coming tonight, right? i honestly can't remember."
"yeah, but you'd told me you would get back to me on the timings," i answered.
"well, dale's flight only gets in at 2am, while i won't be able to get out of work until 1, 1:30. i'll be leaving at around 8, so could you be here by about 7:45?" meredith questioned. "okay, no worries."
"and you won't even have to stay the whole time. johnny's coming home today, so if he ends up reaching before us, you can go then itself."
"oh that's great! you must be excited to see him after such a long time," i said. "we sure are. thank you, mackenzie! oh, and please don't mention the fact that johnny's back to anyone. he just wants a quiet break from his whole celebrity phase."
"will do," i promise, before bidding her goodbye and ending the call.
i glance at my wall clock, and saw that i still had an hour before i had to leave. i open instagram, and scroll through my dms.
i answered a few, but left the rest as they were, not being in the mood to converse.
