After the breakup

I had just got off a relationship with Caleb and it just didn't work out after a year being together, because I just couldn't handle any more constant fights with him. So I started to look for someone not knowing what I wanted whether I just wanted a fling just to keep my mind off of Caleb or I genuinely wanted to date someone else. So I go and download buzzy, a dating app where I met Caleb. And I redo my profile and started swiping left and right despite it was 2AM; I wasn't expecting anyone to answer till I was able to get 2 guys to text me back. So I started making conversation and asking when to meet up and one said he'd like to meet the next day the other guy said he'd call me the next day. Then I woke up to walk my dog princess in the morning then I received a call from Tony the guy that said he would call. "Hey are you doing anything today?"
No, why? I said
"I was wondering if you wanted to come swim at a pool I'm lifeguarding for"
I can't I have to stay home and take care of my dogs, I said feeling bad because I wanted to go
"Oh ok it's alright maybe another time"
Maybe it won't have to be another time to meet in person if you come over and swim at my pool after work if you want
"Alright but only if you can drop me off back home"
You got yourself a deal I said with a smile
"Alright but I get off at 8 from work, would that still be okay?"
Yea sure don't worry about it, I'll see you here
"Alright see you soon"
And as soon as I got off the phone with Tony I get a text from Alex the guy I was supposed to meet up with today, and that I completely forgot about.
"Hey where and at what time do you want to meet up?"
I live by a Danny's restaurant if you want to go eat there
"Alright sure"
Alrighty then I'll see you there at 7
"Ok"
I run back home and showered then started to get ready and as soon as I got done getting ready my mom asked me if I can go with her to the store. Then when I got back home from the store Alex texted me.
"Hey, where are you"
I'll be right there in a minute I replied
Then I rushed out of the house and immediately started looking for Alex.
Then when I found Alex I immediately sat down and I apologized for coming in a little late
"It's alright, are you hungry?"
Kinda, are you hungry? I said shyly
"Not really"
"Hi what can I get you started with" said our waitress enthusiastically
I'd like a water please
"A coke for me please"
"Can I get y'all any appetizers or are you ready to order?"
We're ready to order, we'd like to share the Italian sampler please
"Alright I'll get that started right now"
Thank you! both of us said
It was a pretty bad date because I did most of the talking and asking questions and all what Alex would ask me "what about you" after every question I asked him. Finally the food came and I started eating and he would only eat 2 cheese sticks and a meatball. I wouldn't try to eat as much neither so I wouldn't look like I was eating everything. And finally time to go get ready to see Tony.
