"Teachers and students, we are under a lock-down, this is not a drill... I repeat this is not a drill." These words cooed in my head, as all the junior high schoolers at my school, including me, rushed to hide inside any classroom we could get to. The closest one was the music classroom, which was already full. I ran up the stairs by the door, as fast as I could, trying to make it to a classroom. First door: locked, second door: locked, third door: locked. They were all locked! What was I supposed to do? I could barely see, as tears welled up in my eyes, making my vision a blur. Then it hit me, "The bathroom!" I blurted as I bolted down the hall, and in the door, I pivoted and locked the door to the bathroom behind me. I turned around to see around ten stalls lining the edge of the bathroom. Then I got an idea, what if I lock all the stalls so that if someone does manage to get in here, I can hide in one of them, but they won't know which one, because they're all closed! I quickly walked into the first stall, turned around, and locked it behind me. After I did that, I crawled out of the gap under the door, to the next one, and locked it. I did this to every single stall there.

I then remembered I had my phone hidden in my back pocket because, at lunch, kids play on their phones in the bathroom all the time. I quickly pulled out my phone and powered it on. While I waited for it to turn on, I decided to take a risk, I crawled out from underneath the stall and walked up to the door. I thought for a minute. Is it worth it? I concluded that yes, it was. I slowly turned the lock on the door, until it was fully unlocked. I opened the door, looked left, and then right. Hallway clear? Check, I then walked out of the bathroom, and turned the corner. I heard a sound I could've sworn was footsteps, which made me freeze in place. Then it got real.
