Part Twenty Two - Forgive and Forget

Suddenly Bruce emerges from the portal, god I didn't even know what was going through my mind, I hadn't seen Bruce in ages, no one had, god he didn't look good, he looked petrified. "Hey Tony" he says as I take him in, "Bruce" I say as Pepper looks just as confused as me.

"Hi" Pepper says in concern, "you okay?" I ask as he comes in and gives me a hug. Nope, that's not like him, god how could I not trust this doctor strange, Bruce was scared and I needed to help. Just as I was about to say something else I see y/n emerge from the portal awkwardly, god, really, her?

"Aren't you supposed to be at school?" I say with more of my sass then intended. "Well yes, but then I got approached by Doctor Strange, because, um, well let's just say I haven't told you everything about my visions" she says an awkward smile on her face, as if I wasn't already mad at her already!?

"Wow, so you've lied to us" I say angrily as she slowly nods her head. "I'm sorry" she mumbles as I shake my head. "Tony" Pepper says, putting a hand on my shoulder as if to tell me that I need to give her a break. "Tony you're going to want to hear what she has to say" Bruce says as I frown at him. "How do you know each other?" I question.

"oh.. I mean we just met but I feel like we have a close spiritual connection" she said almost happily as I scoff, "she's really cool Tony" Bruce says a small smile on his face.

What the hell was I about to get myself into.

(Your POV, the Sanctum)
"He's been in my mind for a while, but I didn't want to stress you out anymore then you where, that's why I didn't tell you" You say finishing your explanation on what you knew about Thanos, while Tony sat on a couch his chin in his palm, contemplating everything You just told him.

He looked up at you for a second as if he forgave you for everything, like he felt bad for you even? But his glance then quickly changed back to its "pissed off" look making your stomach churn, you just wanted him to forgive you, more then ever.

"And Loki's dead, you watched it happen?" He asked you as you nodded your head, "what makes The purple guy so powerful, where does he get his power?" Tony asks as Wong nods his head, ready to explain.

" 6 elemental crystals" Wong says using some sort of magic to display the universe and the 6 crystals. "Hurtling across the universe, these infinity stones each control an aspect of existence" Wong says as you look up, admiring the portray of the universe.

"Space, reality, power, soul, mind and..... time" Doctor Strange says pressing his necklace and doing some fancy hand movements to reveal the emerald green stone hidden in his golden necklace.

"Tell me his name again?" Tony says bluntly, trying to hide his fright that had likewise been buried inside you for way too long. "Thanos, he's a plague Tony, he invades planets, he takes what he wants, he wipes out half the population, he sent Loki, the attack on New York, that's him" Bruce says dramatically as you gulp down your forgotten tears, it's all my fault, god it's all my fault, I should of told them.

"This is it" Tony mumbles as You cross your arms over your chest, in complete awe of what Thanos was capable of. "What's our timeline?" Tony asks pacing around anxiously, "there's no telling, he has the power and space stones, that only makes him the strongest creature in the whole universe, if he gets his hands on all 6 stones Tony-" Bruce explains but is cut off, "he could destroy all life on a scale of hither to undreamt of" Doctor Strange says as Tony leans up against an ancient looking artefact stretching out his legs.

"Did you seriously just say hither do undreamt of?" Tony asks, "are you seriously leaning on the cauldron of the cosmos" Doctor Strange says as his cape hits Tony so he gets off. "Are we seriously not going to consider the fact that y/n could defeat Thanos?" Bruce Buts in as your eyes widen in shock.

"What?!" Both you and Tony say at the same time. "Like I said before, she comes close second to Thanos's power but that doesn't mean she can defeat him" Doctor Strange says as you sit back down in the couch placing your head in your palms, "her powers can build up, she's only used then once or twice, she will get stronger, she's powerful, just like him" Bruce says trying to prove his point.

"We're not discussing this" Tony shakes his head, "she doesn't deserve that glory" Tony says with snark.

"I'm sorry Tony" you say abruptly, "I'm sorry I disappointed you, I wish I didn't do what I did Tony! And I know it's hard for you with what happened with Bucky but I don't want you to be mad at me, you're the closest thing I have to family, god the closest thing I have to a dad! you mean a lot to me and... god I just hate myself, I hate what I did, I hate everything I have done in the past, I hate myself, I hate that I didn't tell you about Thanos, I'm not worth it! I don't deserve to be here" you raise your voice a single tear falling from your eye from the anger, the fear, the disgust.

You watch as Tonys face morphs into his own regret, he looked as if he felt sorry for you. He lets out a small sigh before coming and sitting next to you on the couch, "I think you deserve an apology" he says which honestly shocked you that those words came out of his mouth.

"You know what I'm like, I hold things in, let them get to me, I know what you did wasn't your fault, it's just- well I don't know, but please y/n don't hate yourself, I've been there, done that and it doesn't help anything, I know it's hard to break, but you have to try... I guess what I'm saying is....... friends?" He questions as you let out a small smile, "friends" you reply as you rest your head on his shoulder.

"That.. that was beautiful" Bruce says seemingly taken aback from what was said. "I don't mean to be snarky but we kind of have a world ending issue to deal with" Doctor Strange said seeming to let out a small smile, wow, didn't know that was possible.

"Right" Tony says getting to his feet and beginning to pace again, his brain doing overtime.
