♡ Husband!Rhys X Pregnant!Reader ~ Family ♡

Start from the beginning

Throughout your pregnancy, Rhys made sure to take care of you and made you stay away from work early. Your boss was kind of confused since you were in your first months at that time, but he did allow you to stay at home after Rhys talked to him about it.

When you were angry, your husband would give you a videogame as a distraction and try to calm you down with it.

When you were sad, he would give you ice cream and comfort you.

When you were a little too happy for what's considered "a normal and sane human being", he would just try to smile and agree with you on stuff you were fangirling over, even if he wasn't a fan of it himself.

He'd get more excited than you whenever you told him that you could feel the baby kicking you. Yes, you were excited, but it's not really all that cute for you once you realized that a daemos' kick is stronger than a human's kick.

During your last month, Rhys was mainly the one who usually panicked over everything you did. He already had figured out a plan on where to jump towards the hospital when it's time. He calculated it all so no time would be wasted. Your man was prepared.

And it was time.

You took deep and shaky breaths as you called out to your husband from the couch. You were watching TV when you suddenly felt something wet going down your leg. Looking down, you noticed blood on the couch as well as your leg. That's when you started to panic.

"R-RHYS! THE- THE BABY! THE BABY IS COMING!"

Your husband was cooking you a meal when he heard you call out to him. He turned off the stove before sprinting over to you, clearly panicked himself now that it was finally happening. Rhys picked you up bridal style and jumped out the window you had opened earlier due to the heat. He then proceeded to use the exact jump route he planned out from your apartment all the way to the hospital. Good that no human saw him, at least as far as you both knew.

Through your time in labor, Rhys was holding your hand whenever he could. He was asked to leave the room until it was over once the doctor's told him that you needed a c-section due to your kid's tiny yet already semi-pointy horns. Not willing to risk any internal bleeding in your abdamon, you had to go with a c-section. Your husband was used to seeing blood, mainly on the battlefield, but he couldn't bear seeing you cut open and your guts showing. Female daemos didn't have any issues giving birth to their offspring because their flesh basically became resistent over the many generations. Tiny daemos horn aren't really pointy enough to cut like an actual weapon, but they could still tear up a human's insides.

It's been hours and Rhys kept pacing around in front of the chair he was instructed to sit on, anxiously awaiting news from one of the doctors about your well-being as well as his son's.

Suddenly, a doctor came out of the room. The daemos gave the human a worried look. "Is my wife alright? Is our baby alright??"

The doctor took off his somewhat still blood-stained gloves and mask before speaking. "No need to worry any longer, Mr.(L/N)- Your wife stayed strong through it all, even in an unconscious state. She's being closed up right now but is in stable condition. For the next few months, please avoid physical intercourse regarding her abdomen due to the pain she will endure for some time after this", he then smiled. "As for your son: He is alright and healthy. Despite him having this strange skull formation with these almost horn-like features, he seems fine and alive."

Rhys let out a sigh of relief before nervously laughing. "Y-Yeah... that might be because of my relatives'... skull mutation... Those, um, horn-like features are usually just there in their first months... heh...", he lied.

"Hm... Alright then. We'd like to keep your wife and child in the hospital for a little longer however, just to run some more check-ups on both their consistent health while you two can bond a little with your child. This should only take about two to five days", the doctor said. The daemos in human disguise said that it's fine with him.

You woke up to your husband next to your hospital bed, holding your hand as tears began to form in his eyes. His smile was as bright as ever, happy to finally have a family with you.

A nurse came back in with your son in her arms, who was still crying out for his mom and dad.

You later found out that your son had the same abilities as his father. Not only was he a fast learner and pretty calm instead of panicked, but he also had the same amount of raw strength as a daemos. His hair was dark brown, his horns were blue, but his eyes were (e/c) and his skin was (s/c).

You couldn't wait to raise this little half-daemos with your lovely husband.
