*After the film had ended, Grace had decided now was the right time to say something. She didn't want to ruin the night they had but she felt it was important and if things went south, well they could just go straight to sleep. Grace's heart was already racing around her chest and her nerves were starting to get the best of her but she pushed the panic to the side; she decided to speak.*

Lizzie?

Yeah?

I need to tell you something really important.

*Lizzie could sense the serious tone in her voice and shift from laying on her back to slightly sitting up on her side, with her elbow underneath her.*

What is it?

*Grace gulped her throat, again trying to suck down the nerves*

Do you remember when we were on the carpet today and you asked if I was okay?

yeah?

I wasn't. In that moment, something clicked and I don't know how else to explain this but, I really like you. like 'like' like you.

Oh.
I'm sorry Grace, I... I don't see you in that way. I like you as my best friend.

And you don't think we could be anything more?

I guess I haven't really given it much thought, but I don't think so. I mean, if I 'like liked' you, then I would have thought about it already.

Well, we've only been seeing each other for the past month and a bit.
That isn't really that long.
