The Reds had surrounded the compound again. Luckily Hanks crew was warned before hand, so they could shut it down. Lucy was sitting in the watchtower, her rifle sat next to her, as she looked out into the horde. That's when she noticed something. A red wearing a weird outfit, pretty far away. She quickly pulled out her binoculars and looked out, and sure enough. It was a person wearing a gas mask, but they were just walking with the reds. Unlike the reds though, it was at a casual stroll, rather than a sprint.
"Hey Hank, is it just me or is there something up with that red?" Lucy asked, handing her binoculars over to Hank. He looked inside and saw what she saw. A red wearing a gas mask, its hair covered by a black hoodie with a skull printed on the front, unzipped showing a bulletproof vest. It had black knee, elbow, and shoulder guards, with what looked to be multiple holsters over its blue jeans. It was wearing white gloves, one of which was holding onto the strap of his red backpack. Hank looked back at Lucy.
"You think it's a human? Or maybe a mutant infected? It could be a commander." Hank said, a confused look on his face.
"I dunno. Should we wait for it to get over here, or should I take a shot?" Lucy asked, grabbing her sniper rifle and aiming.
"Even though I wan't to know what it is, it would probably be best to just kill em. Aim for the head." Hank said, and Lucy took the shot, taking the red down.

Hank was back on the wall. Thankfully the horde had passed this morning, and M informed them they were safe to begin scavenging again. Hank looked over the wall, and saw a red get up off the ground. Must have been trampled by the horde. As it got up, it dusted it self off. It turned towards the compound, its gas mask's lenses glancing in the sunlight. Wait, gas mask? Hank looked closer at the red, and sure enough it was the one they had shot yesterday. How was it back? They had hit its brain right? That's when he heard something over the radio.
"H-hello - *88*8 Not shoot this 81109? I'm-- not gonna hur88880 ou" The radio played in a metallic tone. The red waved at Hank, and began walking towards the compound. Hank was about to shoot, only for the radio to start up again. He heard M's voice.
"Hello america! We're now on day 238 of the year 2029! That's right! You have survived exactly 9 years and 200 days in this hellhole! Congrats! Now, for those of you dealing with a weird red right now, I recommend you don't shoot em! They might be useful! Either way, back to some smooth toons." M said, the radio switching back to jazz. Hank decided to wait, and soon the red had reached the gate.
"So, I gonna have to wait out here or are you gonna let me in?" The red asked, its voice distorted through the mask, though a British accent was just audible.
"What are you?" Hank asked, signalling for Liam to come here.
"I'm a survivor, duh. And one of you quite rudely shot me, but I'm willing to let that go." The red said, looking up at Hank while pretending to shoot itself in the head with finger guns.
"Hey Hank, whats the problem?" Liam asked, finally getting up the wall.
"This red wants to come inside. We shot em during the horde, but somehow it came back, and it can speak." Hank said, looking at Liam in complete confusion.
"Yeah, and it can hear too!" The red yelled angrily.
"What the fuck? You said its a red? And you shot it? If so, cuff em and let em in." Liam said, looking down at the red. "I want to have a chat with it. You and Lucy had best come with." He said, climbing down the wall and opening the gate, handcuff in one hand, pistol in the other.
