A small gasp escaped her lips as she watched the guard behead a woman, who had, undoubtedly not paid the taxes the Kingdom required, as the King had authorized.
The girl watched as the line of prisoners shortened, getting closer to her. She wanted to run, she really, extremely did, but the heavy steel chains claiming her wrists and ankles restrained her, rubbing her limbs raw.
Oh, for the love of God, she really didn't want to die. Cries and pleads for mercy was all she ever heard anymore.
She was basically born into the dungeons, never even seeing what the Kingdom had ever looked like.
Someone nudged her towards the chopping block.
It was her turn.
Oh crap, oh crap, oh crap, we're the the only words she could think. Nonetheless, she walked forwards, steeling her nerves, even if she was facing the end of her life.
'Goodbye.' Her thoughts say.
She sees the silver blade arcing towards her.
'Goodbye.'
A/N: bruh why tf did the tense switch???
Also, this was meh, decently better compared to the next few.
