The Cat

"Yo Renjun! It's time to go!!"

Renjun was rudely awoken by a slap to the head. He groaned as he tried to swat the hand away from him as he attempted to go back asleep. Someone then slammed their hand on the desk, causing the Chinese boy to jump. He looked up and saw two boys standing in front of him. He scowled as the shorter of the two boys laughed.

"Piss off Donghyuck..." Renjun mumbled as he put his head back down. The youngest of the three boys went behind the eldest and picked him off the chair as Renjun resisted. However, the Chinese was no where near as strong his friend. "No Jaeminnnnn."

"Injun, they're gonna kick your ass out of here if we don't do it ourselves. School's out my guy." Jaemin said as Renjun let out a loud sigh and finally got up from the desk. He rubbed his eyes as Donghyuck tossed him his bag. Renjun caught the bag as the three of them walked out of the class.

The three of them have been friends ever since they were little. Their moms are best friends so it was only natural for them to be just as close. They left the school grounds and started to walk towards the bus stop. The trip was filled with chatter, mainly of Donghyuck complaining about how his Korean teacher is full of shit and Jaemin bragging about being on the soccer team. The bus came shortly after they arrived and they all walked in. The bus was surprisingly empty so they didn't have to worry about being a public nuisance as they continued their conversation.

"So Hyuck..." Donghyuck turned to Jaemin with his brow raised.

"What?"

"How are things going with that dork boy you like?" Jaemin asked as Donghyuck's face was instantly painted red. He lifted his hand to hit the brunette as Renjun held him back. The three of them laughed as Jaemin asked again. "So?"

"Nothing, he's just as oblivious as ever. He thinks my attempts at kissing him are platonic." Donghyuck answered with a sigh. Jaemin put his hand over his mouth in disbelief as Donghyuck started to fake cry. Renjun giggled as he rubbed his friend's back. "God, I don't even know if he's this stupid or he notices and is really not interested."

"I'm sure he likes you Hyuck." Renjun reassured. "Plus, what's not to like about you?"

"A lot actually." Jaemin said as Renjun glared at him. Donghyuck let out a dramatic and obviously fake sob as Renjun sighed. The shortest noticed that his stop was coming up as he clicked the stop button. He walked towards the front of the bus as his friends watched him. The bus came to a stop as Renjun waved his friends goodbye. They waved back to him as he left the bus. He watched the bus drive away before he started to walk in the direction if his house.

He passed by many shops and stores that lead him to his cozy home. His parents had sent him to Korea to go to school and to live with his cousin. His cousin, Kun, ran the local Chinese bakery and they lived on top of the shop. He didn't really mind it but it was loud occasionally. There was a faint smell of pineapple buns and bbq pork buns in the air as a smile grew on Renjun's face. He started to walk quicker when he heard a faint noise. He wasn't so sure about what the noise was but it got louder once he reached an alleyway. He then heard a crash as he saw a trash can fall over. He slowly walked into the alleyway to see a cat looking through the trash. The cat was small but it wasn't small enough to be a kitten. The black cat then turned to Renjun as Renjun froze in place. The cat began to hiss at Renjun, however, since that cat was still small, it wasn't that intimidating.

"Hey, I'm not gonna hurt you." Renjun whispered as he crouched down but the cat didn't seem convinced. He then noticed how skinny the cat was. Renjun frowned as he suddenly remembered what he had in his bag. He took off his backpack as the cat stared him down. He took out his lunch box and took out a leftover cutlet that Kun had packed for him. He held it out to the cat as the cat softened its gaze. It still didn't get any closer to him as Renjun held it out to the cat. He then moved forward as the cat jumped backwards. Renjun put the cutlet on the floor and moved back as the cat watched his every move. The black cat hesitantly walked towards the cutlet and took a bite out of it. Renjun smiled when the cat started to eat the cutlet. He stood up as the cat continued to tear at the food and walked towards his home.
