Mystery

This book is very confusing, filled with lore that I made up, and with little to no explanation about it all. So, here's a little cheat sheet thing, I suggest reading it, it will help.

True's- All creatures without any magical abilities.

Leviathan- A dragon-like creature, that has translucent blue to green to purple scales, with swirly patterns, its anatomy is how you would picture it, except they do not have almost any real organs other than their heart (Which is grey.) They eat plankton if necessary, but they mostly eat fish or other marine life.

Sirens- They sing females to their deaths, they are almost all lesbian, because they reproduce asexually most of the time, and the females of their group are much prettier than the males. There's only 1 male to 20 females, so males are hard to find. They normally have dark green hair, with light grey eyes.

Water elves- Like sirens, except they eat males as well, they do not lure them, but they hide in the seaweed until an unsuspecting victim goes to close, they then slash off their prey's legs with their forearm spikes, and the rest is history. They normally have pastel-colored hair, ranging from light brown and blond, to light blue. They are gender fluid, meaning (In my way) they can be male or female depending on how they feel. They do not have tails, but they use currents they create to swim faster.

Mages (Human)- Are humans who wield very weak majick, their most dangerous weakness is fear, which makes it impossible to use majick, they have to go through difficult training to feel no fear, which makes them almost emotionless, they are mostly known as Sociopaths in the True world.

Shifters- Animals that can take human form to fool True's.

Gryphoons- Griffin-like creatures that are more bird-like, with locating antennae, and manta fins behind their wings, they normally stay up in high trees near water, where they then dive down at least 100 feet to get large prey, like sharks. They are the size of a juvenile elephant.

Pixies- Little balls of blue-grey light, that can shift into a small human-like appearance, but with wings, they normally have lighter colored hair, but it cannot be a  normal hair color, they cant have brown or blond hair or almost any warm-toned hair.

The fish dies instantly, I swallow it whole before continuing on my journey, food has been scarce lately. The only fish in miles was the Tuna I just devoured, thankfully I am heading to a better place, the river where the salmon are swimming upstream. I'll reach it in a few, but sadly I can't fly, the humans would get scared and try to murder me, I've already had that happen once. I notice a pod of dolphin, how did I miss them? My sight is extraordinary compared to most marine life, and my snout is even better. I then quickly realize why I didn't smell them, they're illusions, they flicker and move unnaturally. I wonder who is controlling them, Sirens and water elves are quiet shy and silent creatures around me, and human mages, even though they hate me, wouldn't dare try to lure me (or any other sea creature) to capture, they are not strong enough for that. As soon as they even get a lick of fear, their majick gets corrupted and immediately stops, that's why no true humans ever see majick, they spook the wielder and they stop.

"It's him!" A quiet and high pitched voice says, voice slightly garbled as they speak through bubbles.

"Shh, he'll here! He's not a lowly myth!" A slightly deeper voice says from beside me.

I wonder what they are trying to do to me? It's not easy to capture a Leviathan, maybe they forgot that, unlike them, we were once human, and have a cognitive thought. They may believe we are like wolf shifters, who have all the characteristics of a wolf, except they can change their shape into a human-like appearance to fool the True's.

I decide to play along, I don't get to see much drama or action, mainly because I live in the deepest part of the Mariana trench, I'm just up to the surface to swim to food. I quickly dash to the nearest dolphin, pretending to try to bite it, I fake confusion when I can't eat it, and turn to the nearest Pixie, there clearly pixies, how could I miss that? I zoom forwards, faster than before, using my wings and tail to propel me even faster forwards, I grab the higher-pitched Pixie pretending to bite and swallow the winged trickster. She seems to be playing along because at soon as I pretend to swallow the girl, she immediately shuts up.

"Now come out 'brave' one." I say, trying to scare him even more.

Before I could even blink a large trident, that has clearly been magically enhanced, zooms straight for my eye, I move, and the trident hits my shoulder instead.

"OW! What the hell dude, That's not a good way to treat anyone. Do you want to get murdered?"

"You- you can speak?! But Sydney said you were wild creatures.." The white-haired Pixie states, clearly he didn't study Leviathans before try to capture or kill one.

"Oh! And here's your friend." I spit out the disheveled blue-haired Pixie, her bright gold eyes stare up at me with amusement.

"Why did you all try to trap a Leviathan in the first place?" I say.

"If we want to become lead guards of the Shattered Isles, and that's one of the requirements, killing a large Myth marine creatures, like a Gryphoon or, well, you."

So here I am, walking along with these two little pixies, they're blabbering but I don't mind, It makes less time for me to talk. I prance along, lightly pulling on the reins they put on me.

"So... Where are you taking me? Because if it ends with me dying I'm leaving." I say awkwardly.

"OH NO, we aren't killing you! you're going to the Shattered Forest. Most of us didn't know you were smart, we're used to large oceanic creatures trying to kill our queen, now that I think about it, a wild creature wouldn't aim for the queen on accident like that.." The blue-haired pixie states, who I have now learned her name is Valonie (Val-Oh-Nee).

"Ya.." Says Trance, the other pixie, I can tell he's scared.

I imagine there trying to plan to give me to the queen as a slave or something, doing her bidding and killing rivals. Thankfully I'm like, 10 times stronger than I look, which is saying a lot because I look quite underfed, even though it's just my shape, all leviathans look different, I happen to look skinnier than others. So I will be able to break out easily, hopefully...

Like how they look, what their names are, and so on. No Leviathans though, all the Leviathan characters are set in stone, sorry!
