Depth of Debt

You don't owe your life to anyone but yourself.
You don't owe forgiveness or apologies.
Forgive yourself for pain you've went through.
Apologize to your heart for allowing it to be broken so many times
For your heart may have shattered, but it still never left you.
Owe your self the life you live,
it's the only one you'll ever have.
You don't have to please anyone, because no one pleases you.
They hurt you and leave.
They dig at your nerves and tear away at your emotions.
Those people are the reason your eyes swell with tears.
Those people are the reason you feel fear when you walk amongst others.
Afraid that someone will come up to you and ask for your name.
The name that brings light.
The name that has a purpose.
You're afraid that once they know, they add it to their list of things to destroy.
As if you haven't been enough.
As if you haven't seen enough.
They won't see you for the beautiful rain that you are.
They won't see you for the perfectly imperfect heaven that you are.
But then turn you into deadly storm you are not.
The blazing hell you are not.
You never have been.
You aren't dangerous.
You aren't a burden.
You are purposeful.
Those people are the reason all the mirrors in your house are broken
Those people are the reason for all the reasons you feel necessary to cause yourself even more pain.
But I assure you darling,
That pain is not in the book of things you deserve.
That book is full of beautiful places and heavenly songs.
That book has flowers, otherworldly feelings, and self care written all over it.
Because it isn't what you owe to the world, it's what this world owes to you.
