Somewhere in the outer space in a spaceship, a young man named Zee was sitting in front of his desk. He looked at the documents in front of him, according to them he was in the Martian system and he needed to report it to the base.
Zee has been an astronaut for more than 10 years now, he's been living his life doing researches about planets. He loves astronomy so it was only natural for him to become an astronaut. And today he was on a mission, a very important mission for which he gave up everything else. But for this mission, he is alone on the spaceship. It's his mission.
The young man sights and turns on the computer in front of him, the one he will have to use as a logbook. He then starts talking to the camera:
"Doctor Pruk's journal, September 2357. 252nd day abroad the ISS ORPHEUS. Progress report: After a gamma-ray, our systems of navigation and communication have been slightly damaged. The reparations are successfully made and the communication is now restored. I'm leaving the Martian sector and I'm heading in accordance with the mission to Pluto. Mission reminder: Since its collision with an asteroid, 3 years ago, Pluto is diverting its orbit, putting our solar system in danger...the effects it has on earth are devastating...We will deposit an explosive charge there and confirm its destruction...And we are the mission of the last chance... The ship is calibrated on the optimal trajectory and I'm going to be able to go into hypersleep until I get in the Plutonian sector. I'm leaving the ship under Park's care during the time of my inactivity. Dr Pruk for operation center. End"
After registering this, Zee unbuttons his uniform and turns the computer off. He leans back on the chair, resting his head on the top of the chair.
"Park ?" he asks
"Yes Zee?" the robotic voice of the ship answers
"What will happen if I fail?"
"We will know after the different stage of travel...all in good time." answers calmly the voice
"And if I don't wake up from the hypersleep?" asks the boy, quite nervous
"You will wake up Zee, it's just a long night, nothing more"
"A long night, huh...it's comforting" answered the doctor, a bit anxious
"I can hear some apprehension in your voice, do you want a sedative?" asks the machine
"No, I'm okay" answers Zee, staring into space "I'm not afraid". Was he trying to convince himself, he couldn't tell but one thing is sure, there is no space for fear now, he needs to complete the mission for the sake of humanity and he needs to stay strong all the way.
While he is lost in his own thoughts, Park lunches the preparation to put Zee into hypersleep and to make sure he stays safe until they reach their destination.
"The bed is ready Zee", the voice draws him out of his own thoughts.
"Thank you Park", says the boy as he stands up from his chair. He walks towards a corner where a retractable bed is put. He sits down taking his shoes off and asks "remind me how long to get to the target?". He stands up taking the uniform off.
"Approximately 9 years on earth" says Park
"9 years..."
"A bit more, if we bypass the Amenis."
"Bypass them, the mission is too important to risk anything" said Zee as he hangs up his uniform. He goes back to the desk, drinks his last meal and checks a few documents to be sure. He then walks back to the other bed, the one in which he will sleep for a long time..he starts it, touching the screen to choose the duration of his sleeping time. Then he sits back on top of it, waiting for it to be fully ready before lying down. He's stressed a bit, in an attempt to calm down he takes both his hands and massages between his eyebrows.
"Everything will be okay Zee,"says Park as he can see that Zee is anxious
"I really don't like this stage" answered Zee
"I know doc, but it's necessary"
"I don't like the idea to be lock up in a box...it looks like a coffin"
it's his true feelings, that's the part of his job he hates....being in that cell kind of bed, locked up for his safety yet feeling like he's being put in a coffin...ready to die...he raises his hands and puts them on his hips, trying to breathe.
"Have faith, I will take care of everything" Park says trying to reassure him. "You will fall asleep fast, I'm by your side"
Zee then lies down, breathing in and out slowly as the lid is closing on top of his head. He can see the loading percentage right on the top of his head. 15%...25%...60...75...90%...100% he's ready.
"count with me" he can hear Park's voice
"3..2..1" Zee starts counting while calming himself down as he drifts slowly into dreamland.

[8 Years Later] - Localization: Neptunian system
The spaceship's "bedroom" was dark, the boy was still asleep but not for long. On the touch panel on the screen was flickering the words "DANGER - Connexion lost" and a few seconds later Zee woke up suddenly.

Yes Yes Yes I know haha I still have my ZaintSee fiction to finish. I'm still writing a chapter for it don't worry it will be updated too xD
But This came to me while watching that short movie, and I don't know why I thought about ZaintSee.
I felt like wanting to rewrite this with Zee as the lead character...
